here's some real tips: birch trees have extremely flammable bark that can burn even when it's wet, so if you happen to find any birch trees you should probably get some of the bark for a fire. for starting the fire? well, you're probably cooked, I doubt you could find flint or make a fire plow. And if you just so happened to have some stuff on you before you got stranded, it could be quite helpful, for example hand sanitizer could be extremely helpful for starting fires, id recommend to only use droplets at a time though. and if you have bleach, it can be used to purify water when you use very small amounts, (2-4 drops per liter) Also, create rope ASAP it's the most useful resource and can be used to create a HUGGE variety of tools, such as drills, effective firestarters, and more.
literally my favorite solvent ever, i work at a grease factory so grease and oil get everywhere, and this shit will cut through waterproof grease like nothing. plus it smells great, we just call it “juice” lol
Actual survival tip: fill your clothes with leaves, pine needles, and whatever else you can find that's dry, you lose most your heat to the ground, so do not lay down on it, try to stay awake, if you really need to sleep, again, leaves, bushes, twigs and such are your friends, make a bed, and if possible cover yourself

Funny thing is that orange peels actually do contain D-limonene, which actually is an invisible flammable gas. This video being from this channel almost made me doubt that fact because he said it. The only problem is that you need to extract it and you need a flame to light it anyway. So uhh you would have to have a I used the fire to make the orange light another fire situation. So it’s not very helpful. You’re better off rubbing sticks.
I was so excited when my partner showed me this when we first started dating yrs ago (just the peel oil being flammable, not pretending to make a fire). I remember I grabbed an orange so I could so my mom, daughter, and nephew and then apparently I had an orange peel with a lot of oil because once I squeezed it to my lighter's flame the whole thing did a large fire ball in super close to my face. It ended up scaring everyone instead of impressing them...especially me. I legit thought my eye brows were gone after trying to show off and was scared to look in the mirror 😂
For fire to exist, it only needs Oxygen, heat and flammable objects....i dont think an orange peel can starts a fire cuz, it's practically moisty/wet...maybe a dry one could
The chemical compound of water (H20) contains 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom. Hydrogen is highly flammable and oxygen supplies fires to keep it going. Meaning, you can light up the hydrogen and it’ll combust and the oxygen would support it. MEANING, you can light water on fire👍
Just cover yourself in dry leaves or pine needles and if there is snow on the ground cover yourself in it snow is an insulator not a conducter until it gets wet so if you have a bag or something similar the snow will add an extra layer of insulation
Yes. Pretty much all citrus fruits. In school we did this as a small experiment to show the next year what chemistry is like amongst other things. We used lemons, oranges and limes. But only if you squeeze them so after two tries maybe three you need to use another peel.
I mean you can do the trick where you pull the Center pith out as you peel around the bottom and make a candle that you can then sit around as you contemplate how you're about to freeze to death, but at least there's a little light
I was thinking that if the pine needles are dry, you don't even need the orange peels. Then I realized the trap I had fallen into Well played, sir. Well played

Get better soon

Fun fact: Water (H2O) contains Oxygen, which is extremely flammable
And Hydrogen which is extremely flammable.
Oxygen isn’t flammable. It just makes combustion of a flammable material happen and more oxygen increases combustion rate.
Oxygen isn't flammable, its just something fire needs to burn (oxygen heat and fuel)
Hydrogen atoms are flammable, but because there are oxygen atoms in there as well, the water molecule becomes insufficient on hydrogen because the mix is not stable

I find myself in that scenario very often. I often bring an orange to work as a snack, but I don't smoke so I don't carry a lighter
