A huge tip for putting in the relay. You do not need to get on your back underneath the dash in order to plug it in. Simply reach around the left side of the fuse panel and plug it in by feel. The relay is plugged in with the vertical terminals on the bottom and the horizontal terminals at the top. Feel for the first 2 relays (they are located on the back left one on top of another vertically) and the fog light relay goes right below those 2. It is on the left side of the fuse panel when looking at the panel from the dash. Hope this helps. Took me 2 minutes to figure it out hope you can find it even faster with these tips. Again, reach around from the left side of the fuse panel feel for the third relay location, and plug it in.
This was a excellent tutorial, now I know that the 1st gen Scion Xb's come prewired for fog lights...this shows you how to make use of this option if your XB isn't fully equipped with fogs.👍🏽🇺🇸🇯🇲🌴☀️🌴
Notes on relay installation: I had to lay on my back with a mirror and light to find the relay socket and determine orientation. Once that was determined, I sat in the driver's seat and positioned the relay from the side of the fuse box. Pretty frustrating, but no way I was getting that thing in from underneath. Once I figured out how to get it in there, I was done in a few minutes. Thanks for the video. I would have been clueless how to get this done without it!
this is a great video, great instructions, about the headers, for couple decades ive been replacing and modifing. all i meant was that high quality is best way to go because there is a lot of r&d. thats all
Yooo I installed my fog lights today! Started with the hardest part - the relay. What a pain in the back! Laid cardboard down & got my head & arm under the fuse box.. Wasn't able to remove the plug & ended up using my front phone camera to see how the relay had to go in, then was able to just get my left hand fingers on the side of it to guide it & right hand to plug it in. Didn't take that long either doing it that way, though I did mess with it for a good half hour the night before with no luck. The rest was as easy as it looks, might tweak the adjusters on the lights. They still have just a little movement but not bad. Love your vids man, thanks! Your shop & cars are very clean. I need to get my engine bay looking like yours ha!
I got mine today, got everything installed including the dang blasted relay (huge pain in my fingers) only to not have the lights turn on... After about 20 minutes of making sure everything was connected I realized that my switch is a bit odd. It has three positions even tho only 2 are displayed (on and off) apparently the left and right toggle are off and the middle is on. Only slightly inconvenient but the fog lights turn on and look beautiful. After 15 years my Green Machine finally has fog lights. Thank you for the awesome video!

I have a question the relay you put on the comments comes up as an ac conditioner does that matter ?

Does adding the relay allow you to turn on the fog lights with only the corner markers on or with the headlights on only like from the factory?
I don't think the fog lights will work at all without the relay.
