Michael and Kelly are joined by Nicholas Morton, author of The Mongol Storm, to discuss how Chinggis Khan and the Mongols were able to use their military power to conquer large parts of the world in the 13th century. Nicholas Morton is an Associate Professor at Nottingham Trent University, where his research focuses on the history of the Crusades and the Medieval Near East. His latest book is The Mongol Storm: Making and Breaking Empires in the Medieval Near East.
Bow and Blade is hosted by Kelly DeVries and Michael Livingston.
Kelly DeVries is a Professor at Loyola University in Maryland and Honorary Historical Consultant at the Royal Armouries.
Michael Livingston teaches at The Citadel and is the author of numerous books on medieval history as well as fiction novels.
