7:17 To actually believe that groups of people greater than a few hundred, let alone an entire country, can just "live in a utopia and get along" without some sort of governmental oversight flies so hard in the face of biology that I'm amazed so many people consider Anarchism a legitimate solution. Case in point, at 11:15 you say our hunter gatherer ancestors were effectively anarchists. They really were not and the they certainly were not "getting along in a utopia" with each other. Anarchism is a meme and anyone who thinks it's a legitimate idea hasn't critically thought it through.

This is my opinion, but I disagree that anarchism has worked in the past. Humans are social animals, not isolated ones, and naturally create groups, factions, and tribes as it maximises efficiency. Even the perhistoric humans hunted in tribes, and these tribes usually had leaders, or someone who would take the initiative and spearhead tasks such as hunting.

@@literalantifaterrorist4673 in order for anarchy to exist, you need to ctrl+alt+dlt a part of your nature, and despite whatever hieroglyphics just came out of your fingertips, there still can never be true anarchy because the need to make a social structure is hard-wired into the human brain whether you like it or not. Even back when humans were cavemen, they still made social structures. They were very crude, but social structures regardless. Say what you want, but a true anarchy can never exist and it never will, so stop saying "capitalism is bad" and "anarchy is good", and start using what social system you have until it doesn't work for you anymore, because I can guarantee you that the only reason you have the ability to be chronically online is because the very government you despise made the device you (unfortunately) bought

The current structure the west lives under is without a doubt the best possible version of our society. People can become victims of capitalism in a way. But i challenge you to find a single aspect of life in which someone is not suffering. Capitalism fuels advancment in every industry. Tech, medicine, business, manufacturing. Everything. If humans could turn back the clock to the beginning of society, and never adopt capitalism, instead following anarchism, the world would almost certainly be a bleaker, less advanced, less survivable place than the one we currebtly live in. Again. I won't argue that everyone is living the best life they can under Capitalism. But capitalism is what keeps society producing high quality necessities at lighting fast speed. Just ask former communist countries like russia that now are capitalist. The idea that throwing out such a efficient system will be a net positive is not realistic. And suggesting the abscence of any system, anarchism, is probably the fastest way to ensure that the lifespan of the average human is halved in the next 500 years.

Anarcho communism is a oxymoron ER. Communism implies community and control of the means of production by force. A community is basically small government. Anarchism means lack of government. Tldr: Please let me introduce you to anarcho capitalism. Proper anarchism.
@EphemeralRift Well, sort of. Anprim is pretty good. Its not that bad at all and is viable, my only issue with anprim is tribes and lack of forward progression. I much prefer an anarchism that uses humans biggest flaw to it's advantage in greed and progress from there while also respecting personal freedoms and property. Also, we need to get you a green anprim flag, I like the classic red but its representative of anarchisms biggest enemy: anarcho communism
I appreciate what you mentioned about hunter-gatherers and how their communities serve as evidence for the potential success of anarchism. But I must say they did not have the time and power to even establish a government. They were constantly battling to survive a day at a time, so they basically had no choice. Anarchism may have “worked” tens of thousands of years ago, but it won’t work in the modern world where almost every inch of land is owned by someone or some entity, namely government.
Tbh I agree with ER. We should have stayed primitive. From what research I’ve done, the primitive peoples of north sentinel island haven’t even discovered fire yet, and they have a more civilized and equal community between them.
Huh, I didn't know that about them. It's also interesting they haven't figured out how to make boats and tried reaching mainland, but then again maybe they've tried and just were unsuccessful. But I find it fascinating these people still exist.
Having recently discovered the _actual_ meaning of anarchism, I finally found a name for the worldview through which I perceive my reality. I'm here to learn more about what I now know to be comfortable and reasonable for myself.

I always hear this about Thanksgiving and I find myself quite lucky that this is never a thing in my family. I don't recall a time anyone even mentioned politics let alone got into an argument about it
I personally disagree with the idea that industry NEEDS to go. I agree that pollution and destruction of nature are major issues, but I belive that those could be adressed using technological advancement into renewables as sustainable methods of production. Of course, part of that is simply because I am used to the comforts industrial society provides.
i had a dream once where i saw what society would look like using =exactly= the technology we have now, but in the smartest, most optimal way. we were in space, there were like space rollercoasters, everyone had food, everyone had books, everyone cooperated and had enough for their needs. using exactly what we know now, but in better smarter ways

Anarchism is a meme and anyone who thinks it's a legitimate idea hasn't critically thought it through.
just look more into Uncontacted Peoples and do some more research. Anarchism/anarchy *is* our default state and was for hundreds if not millions of years.
@@EphemeralRift I just don't necessarily think it beneficial to strive for a system we've evolved away from, not biologically, but mentally. I guess I'll look more into it. @ER, LOL. You are literally my fav person :)
@@EphemeralRift My point exactly
This is my opinion, but I disagree that anarchism has worked in the past. Humans are social animals, not isolated ones, and naturally create groups, factions, and tribes as it maximises efficiency. Even the perhistoric humans hunted in tribes, and these tribes usually had leaders, or someone who would take the initiative and spearhead tasks such as hunting.
We got capitalism, communism, and now anarchism asmr.
Are we gonna do asmr of every social ideology?
who knows it's possible! lol
As much as I've tried to tell TH-cam I'd like to avoid Jojo videos I just saw there was some sort of 'drama'. If you read this, Rift, please don't fall into that trap. ASMR doesn't need to become like the 'cosmetics community' with their '[we have nothing else to do with our lives and no sense of purpose] drama'. You really can just not respond to any of it, no one has gotten anything out of paying attention to a bunch of howling monkeys.
I don't even know who this Jojo is that people keep mentioning. I don't even watch TH-cam except for videos of Cattle Decapitation or John Zerzan. So people can tweak all they want it doesn't affect me one iota.
That monkey you are referring to is actually ER himself yes he is a racist peace of shit
Also the solarpunk movement is very interesting. It's a vision of a better future post-capitalism, where we respect nature and each other while embracing technology and use it for the good of humanity and the planet.

Actually, true anarchism is our default state and how we lived as hunter-gatherers during the first million years we existed.
@EphemeralRift Well, sort of.
@@EphemeralRift Then you’re not a communist you’re a primitivist. Which is the most extreme form of conservatism
Imagine having a state 😂
I appreciate what you mentioned about hunter-gatherers and how their communities serve as evidence for the potential success of anarchism.
