we watched that Gun Safety video when I was in 4th grade, all I remember is that "tell the adult" song kid me came up with a top tier parody where it was "go, do touch, stay in the area, kill the adult"
I used to watch that Eddie Eagle video all the time. The first time, dad made me watch it because he did have a lot of guns, but all the other times were because there wasn't much to do at his house.
Regardless of how one feels about guns, it's just factual that a lot of people in America have them. Because that's not likely to change (I mean, it hasn't changed since that video came out), it's wise to tell kids these things are deadly and it's best to leave them alone. A common situation: a handgun is kept in case of a home invasion. While there would be far less of a chance for a child to find it if it was locked up in a safe, unloaded, that also prevents quick access in the event of a home invasion, defeating the entire purpose of having a self defense handgun. So maybe Dad hides the loaded gun in the bottom of his underwear drawer, or somewhere else out of sight and unexpected, yet easily accessible if you know where it is. But kids love exploring and getting into places they shouldn't. Kid finds gun while parents are away, and if the kid doesn't know what it is, or doesn't expect it to be deadly, really tragic accidents could happen, especially if the kid has a sibling and they play around with it. If they're taught what a gun is and why it's better never to touch it, that might help them to avoid it. Arguably, with the right child that is responsible and level-headed, it might be even better to get them familiar with actually using a gun, in a safe, controlled environment under the careful eye of an adult. The kid wouldn't fear using the gun, but they would also be familiar enough with using one that it shouldn't be a temptation. This is all bullshit hypothetical speculation on my part, though, don't take it too seriously.
I say the younger you get your child out to the range to get acclimated to firearms and how to treat them with respect the better. When you bar something away you only increase the temptation to discover the secrets of said taboo
Getting the child to actually use the gun is a good idea, because it replaces their imaginary idea of how cool the gun would be to play with, with the reality that it's basically a really loud stapler. It's the same as how kids quickly get bored with toys they were talking about for months before they got them: the idea of the toy is boundless, the reality is limited. Obviously supervised with the adult in control of where the weapon is pointed, you don't want to be like that instructor who got his ass killed because he let a little girl stick an NFA Uzi on fullauto.
same basic story when i was a kid. My dad took me shooting when i was 5. Guns are load scary staplers. Never wanted to touch a gun again for many years. Hollywood make guns glamorous. in real life kids are scared of them particularly when they don't have hearing protection.
It's no surprise watching this that Jack is the one saying, "Yeah, the gun safety video serves a purpose," and in another BotW video, we can see that farmer-boy Jack's the one among them who has any idea whatsoever how to aim and fire a handgun
My mother had a DVD version of multiplication rap that she forced me to watch every day after elementary school to help learn. I wound up getting a music degree so I'm glad I have that full DVD burned into my head...

I would give anything to be on that couch, curling beers, and laughing at these movies with Mike, Jay, Rich, and everyone else! They're all so hysterical and talented! Keep up the great work, guys!!
I've seen the eddie eagle guy safety video. I live in Alaska, and everyone and there mother has a gun, so it is actually important that children understand not to mess with guns unless they are being directly supervised. I was a child. and I think it was at the Dept of Fish and Game building in our town. My dad had taught me plenty of gun safety and I had been hunting as a kid too.
I remember watching that Gun Safety video during a school assembly in First Grade back in early 2002. I never expected this thing to appear in my life this way. So thanks for that, you guys
Weird that when they show that clip of S.O.S., they use the English language version, despite watching the Japanese one. Assuming they already deleted their footage of the full Japanese one (because, last I remember, it isn't on TH-cam) and it was just easier to download one of the English language ones? I love S.O.S. and I've seen it in 4 languages, I think. What a hit!
No joke, my grandmother actually had a copy of that Eddie Eagle VHS tape. I used to watch the hell out of that tape. Oh, the innocence of being six years old...

I heard after he went to the man's home, Rich was forced to dressed up as Wendy and the man was dressed as Dave Thomas. Their is no coincidence that after Rich settled outside of court with Wendys, they started the 99 cents value menu.
If anyone is interested I think the voice of Eddie Eagle is a famous voice actor named Cam Clark. I think he used one of his pen-names (pseudo-names) for this gig. Cam Clark, for those of you wondering, was the voice of Leonardo from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon from the early 90s, the voice of Liquid Snake from the Metal Gear Franchise, Kaneda in the English dub of Akira, Ryudo from Grandia II, Male Version of Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates, Private Fredricks from Mass Effect, Kageroza Inaba from Bleach. I mean, the dude has pretty much dabbled his voice acting talents in everything, but like most voice actors, they are very distinct if you're listening closely.

You are very well spoken for a well-done steak.
Dude that’s gold!! Lol
"They're old... you just let them... do it." -Rich Evans, FORMER retirement home director.
I'm in a pretty sad fase of my life right now. Your guys video's pull me through. Thanks for making all these awesomely funny video's.
No kidding, Red Letter Media is my absolute favorite channel on TH-cam! I enjoy every video SO much that I wish they could put out even more! I would give anything to be on that couch, curling beers, and laughing at these movies with Mike, Jay, Rich, and everyone else! They're all so hysterical and talented!
Keep up the great work, guys!!
riches story about the baseball guy made this my favorite wheel of the worst. I never laughed so hard before.
i love how jack & jay just lean in at the start of rich's story b/c they know it's gonna be something good
"Minor league bat and balls".
He's a genius.
They muted Jack's comeback for added comedic effect. Mike edited this. Just finished watching. Called it.
I was literally exactly at that point when i read this how tf
Mike's and Rich's chemistry is fucking amazing. They need to star in a buddy cop movie. Maybe that's what space cop is about?
I remember watching that Gun Safety video during a school assembly in First Grade back in early 2002. I never expected this thing to appear in my life this way. So thanks for that, you guys
Weird that when they show that clip of S.O.S., they use the English language version, despite watching the Japanese one. Assuming they already deleted their footage of the full Japanese one (because, last I remember, it isn't on TH-cam) and it was just easier to download one of the English language ones?
I love S.O.S. and I've seen it in 4 languages, I think. What a hit!
"He wanted to show me his Warhammer figurines," -is that what they're calling it nowadays?
That awkward moment where rich mentions the Warhammer figures and you watch this while you paint Warhammer figures 💀💀
THANK FUCKING GOD
i thought i had missed the video because i saw it earlier and was like "fuck it ill watch it later"
my life is preserved.
What happened was that at the 40 minute mark, the video was just chewed up by either TH-cam or whatever. It is now much better.
***** kinda wanna see this nightmare now
***** I don't think so, or they would have kept it up.
SZF123456 You're not really missing much.
Those old ladies were actually very charming. I wish I had so much going on in my life at that stage in life.
You wish you had? What are you, like 150 years old?
No joke, my grandmother actually had a copy of that Eddie Eagle VHS tape.
I used to watch the hell out of that tape. Oh, the innocence of being six years old...
Strangely enough, I'm randomly rewatching this the day after Kirstie Alley died.
The "Edited by Mike Stoklasa" at the end just kills me, probably the best joke in an already great episode.
They watched the 20th anniversary on the 20th anniversary of the 20th anniversary.

Camerman? ..........YOU HACKS!!!!!!!!!!
It's because he's the one who came
"A senior YMCA"
How the fuck does that work? A Senior Young Men's Christian Association?
Young at heart?
+Scott Gordon So their name is a lie?
The YMCA is kind of a vestigial name. It has evolved into something very different than what it first was, but they kept the name because of branding.
It's basically just a chain of gyms and activity centers.
Fairy tales can come true
It can happen to you
If you're young at heart
Make your dreams come true; you'll see fantasy...
Magic can happen to you!
I heard after he went to the man's home, Rich was forced to dressed up as Wendy and the man was dressed as Dave Thomas.
Their is no coincidence that after Rich settled outside of court with Wendys, they started the 99 cents value menu.
Man, Jay is one beautiful little man.
He went from ugly hobgoblin to short sexy man
cool cat loves you.
0816Egg Cool Cat loves allllllll kids!

Rich Evans is the coolest cat of them all
Wait a minute, was the chorus to SOS always in English?
the bonesauce GIVE ME THE FUCKING LINK YOU MINDLESS ZEALOT!!!
24:20 Mike is only roasting Rich Evans about his relationship with Warhammer-figurine guy because Mike is really jealous that Rich went into someone else's bedroom.
I remember renting My Pet Monster multiple times when I was a kid, and my dad seeming very bored and irritated whenever I would deign to watch it.
"Im gonna show you my ""Wendy's Ad"" I died.
When I first saw Eddie Eagle, I thought it was featuring the legendary British ski jumper from the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics!
