I’m disappointed at how the judge made excuses for the rude mother of the deceased, without even putting her straight. This young lady is so respectful, matured and smart.

I lost my only son 20 years ago in the Marines, and if somebody would come forward today and claim, my grandson, or daughter, I would jump for joy, and I don't want a DNA test. My son didn't have any children. He was engaged and had no children.
I've hurt, and I've grieved, but never, did it present itself in a way that caused me to hurt someone this way. I know this woman is hurting, but there's no excuse for this evil behavior.

(@23y/o)** God willing it will be over by Christmas.. he never cared about the baby, just wanted to control me and keep me dependent.. Now im married to a better man! She has a little sister and im looking to finish college, start a career and buy a house in 3yrs.. The kids didn't end my life, but thst first relationship could have. The mother of the deceased. Has some type of meanness that she will live to regret this appearance. I would never want my baby around someone that toxic. The baby will see this video someday and understand why her dad's family wasn't apart of her life. When she gets older it can be her decision. But not on my watch.

I think its just right for the judge. The mother ain't have anyone with her but the picture of son... and 50k is not a big amount she might have already spend and afraid to pay for it.. its like a problem and another problem for her.. I understand that its her grand daughter but they started wrong foot so she couldn't let them in again there's so much been said and done.

The judge is putting words in the defendant’s mouth by saying her behaviour is due to her hurting for her son. She knew her son was a playa and she was proud of it, taking about he was in a committed relationship. That same tongue uttered that he was a legend.

Am I the only one upset at the judge for not harshly lecturing the grandmother on her behavior? Despicable human being, disrespecting a 16-year-old little girl, invaded her privacy by going to her school then accused her of extortion for the $50K as if that is any money.

@Jocelyn Graham Every time the young lady spoke she was interrupted and the judge allowed it, but when the daddy's mom was speaking and the young lady said something the judge jumped in. The judge didn't address the woman's behavior the way it should have been. The young lady was more mature than the daddy's mom. Grieving for a child is absolutely no accuse to be as nasty as she was to the young lady. So speaking as a mother who has lost a child that behavior is unacceptable. Instead of her rejoicing that she does have a grandchild from her late son she reacted like she was disgusted with the results. The young lady never asked anything from her and yet she accused her of that it is all for the money. It seems to me by her reaction and behavior that she is all about the money and doesn't want to share it.

The judge allowed that woman to continue her disrespect towards the young woman throughout the entire case. Also no offer of support from the court, she obviously needs it.

Losing a child doesn’t mean you can be disrespectful to people. No one ever gets over losing a child, but doesn’t give anyone a pass to be this rude and disrespectful about an innocent baby.

She didn't have to take that attitude; she could have just gotten the paternity test to confirm and then extend that child's family with love and support. Shameful woman. That baby is entitled to Social Security benefits which the grandmother cannot collect anyway. I don't know the legal issues surrounding the insurance policy, but the baby's mother didn't even know about it. Grief doesn't account for the wicked way she treated that child. Going to the school to confront a 16 year old?!!! Noooo!!
