As a self taught daresay pianist myself,I can certainly denote the easiness of movement his fingers have with the keyboard, his total command of the piano ,playing at memory each concert, you see the delight in his face as well. For others,it takes a lifetime of experience to achieve closest to him;he is certainly, a total genius. From Costa Rica🇨🇷
I'm so glad that I took 6 years of French, because I can understand some of this documentary, which is probably the most use that I'll ever have out of my French classes
Fascinating how he compares music (sound waves) with water waves. While performing he completely 'engulfs' the listener. Plain wonderful! His technique totally serves the music, there is no arrogant showing off.
Daniil is simply captivating and very charming when he speaks about Music.Autentic and genuine, as he is still today in 2024 ! I'm so delighted that he was bringing this Piece of Rachmaninov wonderful to Life again. To see the Joy in his Face is a special Treat ! ❤
All that suberb playing -for what appears to be a handful of people. Good thing it was filmed for many more lucky people! The variation at 28.50-31. is heavenly
A shame to see Daniil playing for a concert hall barely half-filled, considering the public fighting over tickets for his concerts nowadays ... Proof of how far the musical voice reaches of a person who from the start does not gaze on the size of his audience but instead is guided by his inner musical compass ... Bravo Daniil, you are one of a kind and I sincerely hope and pray you will remain true to your musical vocation ... How clever to repeat the original Chopin Prélude at the very end, at least in part ... A subtle reference perhaps to the repetition of the original Aria after the final variation of Bach´s Goldberg Variations?
Absolutely astonishing and unbelievable. I have never heard anything quite like this before from anyone. That encore arrangement was astounding just by itself, but his Rachmaninoff was stella! Wonderful! How can he possibly improve?
@@finnstyles ... Too bad the piano was not yet concert-tuned (and audibly off-pitch) when this was shot, still and even so, it remains soul-tearing ...
Ah, I want to listen in English or see English subtitles please! My French is extremely limited...Love Daniil Trifonov..such a passionate player/pianist that his performances puts me into a trance....
just because you can play very fast does not mean you should.......attention is directed to the performer, the music and the composer be damned............................
Paul Jones: ... which is precisely what he is saying around the 13 minute mark. He is an astonishingly fine musician and I find his way of playing almost all music very persuasive.
With all respect I don’t like how this etude sounds on him…the left hand that sings the melody is not significant I almost don’t hear the sing… yes very fast, but I belief some slower and marking left hand more like singing the melody would sounds much much better…Virtuosismo is good, but a machine interpretation is not good either.

Это я не всегда вспоминаю,что перед тире и после нужно оставлять пробел, иначе все перечеркнется.

Fascinante! 💫
Brilliant piano virtuoso.
At 13:48, this sublime melody brings always tears to my eyes...Thank you Daniil!
