- Collecting physical media can be fun, and at times, it can be incredibly frustrating. Let's go through some of the most frustrating things about collecting physical media.

Here's the thing man... coming from someone who's been collecting for nearly 25 years... these issues have always been around and they _will_ always be around. There's a constant juggle of double-dipping on formats and editions and versions etc. - but that's the nature of the beast. It's all commercial after all.
No use getting worked up over it, just ride it out, and enjoy the ride while it's still here!
My biggest annoying thing is when I order discs online, they either come disc scratched by the manufacturer, steel book broken, slipcover damaged etc. I have to make extra trip down to make a return.
You don't have to double dip you choose too if the movie is a must have in your own opinion
The most annoying issue for me is how many limited movies are out there and sell out immediately and then the absolute ridiculous prices people want for them on the secondary market when I just want it for my collection and not to re sell. Many times they jack the prices up 3 t0 5 times the original price. Often pre order dates are tricky as the companies play games on when to pre order it unless you are someone who has a phone in your hand all the time following the companies tweets and posts.
Yeah, I just had that happen to me with a special edition of Late Night With The Devil, and now if I want it, I'm gonna have to fork over 3 times what they paid for it.
Region codes suck
I have had to import Blu ray's from oversea's because there were titles that were only released on DVD here in Australia
The most annoying thing for me is how many thing arrive damaged. A messy/dented slipcover, the insert cover being so high up on the case it's ripping (ive noticed this a lot with criterion), a shattered case completely and now just the other day i unknowingly bought a friggin bootleg shaw brothers arrow set!
That is annoying, I've heard some horror stories about Steelbooks from Best Buy when they sold them.
Same here bro. The excitement which quickly becomes frustration after unboxing.
I don't mind the lull in releases because it give me a chance to watch movies I have bought and haven't got around to watch yet
When someone says to you Why buy when you can stream it?
My reply is I own it and I don't have to pay a sub to watch it and I don't have to worry about the streamer removing it half way through a season
I I do it because I love it! I love my movie collection. I’ve got over 2000 titles and counting!❤
I only own blu-rays and 4k movies it makes it easier then trying to own every format.
He right
Funny how we know its wrong but if a new collectors edition came out tomorrow you would buy it .
I’m going to buy a region free 4K player
I have an Oppo 4K player which is reason free and I bought a Panasonic 4K player as a backup unit which can play all regions via a remote hack
I recommend it to any collector out there.
