I'm still shocked that most of Meco's discography was never released on CD. I think most labels feel that there wouldn't be an audience for Meco's work. But I'd buy the entire boxed set if one were to be made. Meco was a proper artist. If he would've toured with that big orchestra, I think he would've gotten more recognition and respect.
Jep! It is hard to find Meco's music from music stores. Meco has been influential person for many great artist like Giorgio Moroder. This is my 1st Vinyl I listened from my fathers LP music collection when I was 2-5 years old and it affected me a lot. Nowadays I'm a musician and a sound producer and the effects are still visible in my music today.
Its actually pretty interesting to find out what you remember about something 40 years later. I'm just blessed that I didn't die across those 40 + years. What a luxury to be able to experience that kind of re-lived memory after that length of time!

Just 37 years took me to find that the music of that old tape that my dad recorded and which we used to listen each vacation car trip when I was young was this MECO album. I'm out of my mind!! 🥲🥲🥲
How did Meco NOT get sued behind the Godzilla roar? LOL! This brings back memories. I was a kid right in the middle of Third Ward, Houston, Texas 1980 listening to this record.

I listened to this on my mom's LP growing up, hadn't thought about it for decades, then it popped into my head as I was listening to Ray Lynch's Deep Breakfast. Couldn't remember the name of it for the life of me, but I remembered the word Millennium from the cover, figured it might have been the record label, searched their discography on Wikipedia, and, well, here I am! And so are you! What wonderful times we live in!!
The song Meco's Theme was used in the film "Thank God It's Friday". Just rewatched it the other night and swore I was hearing Meco playing. His album Star Wars (and Other Galactic Funk) makes a brief appearance at the end of the film.

Groove train from the dinosaur to the 80's to the old west and back to a future or distant past again and yet here we are.

My parents had this record when I was a kid. I'm 49 now and they probably still have the record at home somewhere. lol
