Sir, first of all thank you very much for this useful video. For one of our customer we will install zig-zag grounding transformer. This system is 10.5kV and I am planing to limit grounding current with 1kA. At that point when I discuss with our transformer factor they need continuous amps and short time amps (short circuit amp), time and related bus voltage. 1-Rated Voltage is 10.5kv --> it is clear 2-Continuous amps --> As much as I have searched, 3 thing affect this value. First, unbalance condition amps. Second, magnetizing current for zig-zag transformer, Third one is capacitive current which is produce by cable. 3-Short time Current and Time --> Short circuit value, I have determine it 1kA 5second. In order to avoid over voltage, that is why I used 1kA. And I think 5 second is quite enough I will clear the earth fault less than 1 second. My questions are, Above information right or not ? Is there any missing part ? Should I also add, resistor to star point of zig-zag transformer ? After design team of transformer, finalize their work they will share ohm per/phase information with me. If these value is enough I think I do not have to insert grounding resistance also.. ? Best Regards,

Normally transformer will be 11kv and during fault there is no load affected and hence slightly above rated system voltage of 11kv, that is something like 11.5kv 2) i am not sure which continuous rated current they asked. Its a confusion for me too to do sizing of earthing trafo calc. But if its ur system continuous current, u need to consider ur power trafo Full load Amp capacity 3) short time current value of 1kA looks very low, better check this valie with ur short circuit study

@@lecturesinelectricaleng but if you see above values, and 34.5kv/ Sq.root(3) = 19.9KV (phase voltage) and 19.9KV/19.9Ohm = 1000A. where 19.9 ohm is the selected value of resister, and 1000A is the current rating of both resister & earthing trafo. (since they are in series 1000A flows through both). So its totally confusing. And as per your lecture, If/3 will be neutral zero seq current right? So the fault current value obtaining in short circuit analysis /3 will be used for earthing trafo sizing. Am i correct?

How will it work in normal load condition? If there is a path to go to ground, won't current just take that path instead going to the real load?
