The stamp at 1:16 is not overprinted, but it is precanceled in the manner that is typical for French stamps. These precancels are common. The stamp at 1:36 is Hungary 8N10. It is one of many different back of the book occupation overprints for Hungary. Many of these occupation overprints were extensively counterfeited. Also at 1:36, the Hungarian stamp, showing in the glassine envelope with the “SHS” overprint , is a stamp from Yugoslavia, issued in 1918. In the early days of Yugoslavian postage; a number of Hungarian and Bosnian stamps were overprinted for use in Yugoslavia. Most, if not all,of the Chinese stamps shown were issued in the turbulent period of the 1940’s. The imperforate stamp at 4:46 is Estonia (Eesti) Scott NB2. The imperforate variety is mentioned in the footnote following the set. The Ukraine overprint on the German stamp is listed as Russia N32. Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union when Hitler invaded, which is why this stamp is listed under Russia. Ukraine did not become independent until 1989. At 6:45, all stamps inscribed “Nippon” are from Japan. This word was added to Japanese stamps in the 1960’s. Previous to the 1960’s, the four character inscription that is above this word on this stamp will identify Japanese stamps.

Just wanted to add, that you find the same precancelation as on the French stamp, on Algerian stamps, as Algeria was a colony of France.

Nicely done! Parenting certainly aligns your priorities. Hoping you introduce your girls to the hobby. My girls got into it around age 4. Ukraine stamp subject is fascinating. The war is covered real time on social media, the Snake Island event was notable and Ukraine capitalized on it. Philately should take note of what gains attention and why. There is potential for the hobby to go mainstream again like it was in the 1950s.

Unfortunately I have COVID, but it has given me a lot of time to watch your videos which have been very informative. I watched a couple videos you did on identifying foreign stamps, but find I am still particularly challenged on separating Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other stamps with non English alphabet. This would also include some middle eastern countries. I would really enjoy a video with tips to help identify these stamps

The Ukraine-Overprinted stamp is listed in gerrman Michel-Catalogue as #4 within Ukraine in 'Deutsche Besetzungsausgaben 1939/45' and priced with 0,30 € which is the minimum of a listed stamp. The whole set of 20 values is listed with 3,50 €. The whole set in used condition is listed with 15,- € but this is only due to four values which prices increased a bit.

I been getting into stamps a lot lately and I’m really enjoying your videos :) I have one question if you don’t mind answering, I bought westgate supplies perforation gauge but I’m not sure if I’m using it correctly, you would have to Google it so you can see what I mean but I’m not sure if I line the stamp up to cover the circles or if I do something else

Hey Mallard, if you ever have a bunch of stuff you don't want I'd be interested in purchasing it. I'm in new collector and I'm trying to get my collection up. I would appreciate it.

it really feels for me that you collect China just because it has a value without digging into stamps history, story and comming into depth of them. But everybody has their own way to collect.
