Still using this phone going on almost 4 years now and am still loving it! I have hardly any issues with it. Am starting to outgrow the small 16gb storage and battery life has become quick draining but in 2021 this phone is still quick, awesome manual camera, and the 4k display is just as good as most 2020 phones!!🔥

I had mine pre-installed on the S7 Edge. I can only deactivate the app.. but it still opens up automatically and starts that glorious loop every week or third day or so. Especially when I want to use other pre-installed apps such as Facebook.

They certainly never have before. That's one thing Samsungs are really behind on. If the S8 dropped with front facing speakers, it could be a god among phones lol. But I highly doubt it will, all the leaks show no sign of it. I suppose the bottom + top dual setup would be base level adequate.
The LG G2, G3 and G4 were great phones. LG really dropped the ball with the G5 and its modular design and volume/power button placement. I switched over to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The S7 Edge is a great phone; however, I still sometimes miss the LG G4.

Karl Kahambwe My LG G3 screen died. This is my second G3 that died. The first phone had the Bootloop issue. Using my backup S4 until the S8 comes out in 2 weeks.
I've had my LG G3 for three years and it worked great until recently. I don't know if this issue is unique to me or not but basically the screen goes black quite constantly (sometimes it freezes on the present image and fades out in weird colours). The only way to make it work again is to put it in standby mode and wake it over and over again a few times until the screen doesn't show black. Even though the screen goes black, you can still use the phone and tap on the screen to do stuff, it just doesn't show what's happening. I factory reset it twice, didn't make a difference. It started when the one time I happened to put in my screen lock pin rapidly, which doesn't make sense. What makes it weirder is that the phone is in great condition too.

I hope for the sake of consistency either you use this going forward or you drop it, as it was really annoying to listen to...it gave a vibe like you were looking for stuff to nitpick on or make a point of emphasis you were going to have stuff to nitpick about. Video production is still crispy as always but that was my only issue.

Honestly i think he simply doesnt like the LG Skin. I've watched him for a long time and know how much he loves his pure android experience. Nothing wrong with manufacturers customizing the UI, but at times they just degrade the UX.

I don't think he trashed it. It just seems to be a "meh" phone with no outstanding features so he didn't have much to talk about except for the glitches.
Also, not a fan they moved buttons to the side of the phone instead of keeping them ALL on the back. That was really what set LG apart. I don't need volume on the side. It just makes the bezels wider than they need to be and kills a signature LG feature where physical buttons have almost always been on the back that makes so much more sense from a one fingered index finger operation standpoint. And, again, BRING BACK THE BATTERY SWAP!!!!

It's been 3 years and 8 months since I got my g6. The fingerprint scanner stopped working at the 2 year mark, had issues with screen burn in. Battery life got worse. It lags and gets really warm when I do the usual stuff, like watching youtube videos. On the plus side, I've dropped it a dozen times (with a flimsy clear case on) and it hasn't broken yet. Getting an s20 next week, hopefully it lasts just as long, if not longer than my g6.

I am using LG G5 for 7 months now and I really like it. I only had some issues with its camera in really humid circumstances next to a waterfall. Otherwise, it works perfectly.
Shame on LG for killing the replaceable battery. Nice they kept Qi, MicroSD and the headphone jack but also hate that they put the headphone on the top and not the bottom of the phone. It makes no sense on the top. But really... SHAME for no replaceable battery. We need at least one flagship with a swappable battery and LG was our only hope as of the the last few years. SHAME!
I used to love removable batteries, it would be a useful feature but quick charging, power banks, and better batteries overall make removable batteries not as useful as they used to be. But of course, iPhones could always use a removable battery because of their horrible battery life and mediocre charging times :)
I put about 7 months of research into finding the best phone for myself a few years back. 7 months! It was my first time purchasing a phone myself and I pay full price, no gimmicky contracts from mobile companies, so it was important that I did my homework. After all those months I found that the LG G4 was the best choice. I loved its designed, features, camera and screen. Mind you Im not a tech freak, I really didn't care about any of that but I needed a good quality phone and I kinda wanted to know what it was like to have a flagship phone. Well after almost two years, as much as I love the phone and the company its been nothing but headaches. Ive had to send it in for replacement twice now. First problem, after three months of use, was the firmware crashed then 4 months later the screen went blank. Under warranty they fixed it without charge and was fairly fast, 2 weeks, but it was a pain to have to ship it and then use a prepaid phone(since Verizon doesn't give their customers temp phones). My point is, I think its all a waste, unless you're a very businesslike individual who really needs a great phone then by all means but if you just needs phone that does what a phone needs to do and runs nice a flagship phone is just not worth. Too much time and money invested, never been so dissapointed. I had a slight curiosity about the new one which is why Im here(and for Brownlee!) but my novel here has reminded me how its not worth it. As soon as this one goes Ill be purchasing a phone no more than $200.
Don't mind Marques but you are biased for Samsung and Apple, the phone with edge display doesn't seem to crack in your case but this does. In my option G6 will be a choice for many due to is flat screen. What do you really mean by SD821 is in comparison with SD835? Is SD821 too slow for you? That in my opinion will vary by microseconds. Lastly, you mentioned the camera is bad, but what is bad? Picture quality? Saturation? Sharpness? Focusing? I've a thumbs down for this video unfortunately.

Agreed but at the user's end that really does not matter. Consider your current device and your earlier device and how much does the performance thing ultimately bothers you? I use S7 (having 14nm) and also the Nexus 5 but at times Nexus 5 (having 28nm) feels more snappy. And ultimately you will enjoy if your device makes you happy. Marques in this video also gave a minus on non-removable battery, but security point of view that should be considered a right move by LG. All others already did so long long back. Also, G6 will be considerably cheaper than the S8.

The only way to make it work again is to put it in standby mode and wake it over and over again a few times until the screen doesn't show black. Even though the screen goes black, you can still use the phone and tap on the screen to do stuff, it just doesn't show what's happening. I factory reset it twice, didn't make a difference. It started when the one time I happened to put in my screen lock pin rapidly, which doesn't make sense. What makes it weirder is that the phone is in great condition too.

I hope for the sake of consistency either you use this going forward or you drop it, as it was really annoying to listen to...it gave a vibe like you were looking for stuff to nitpick on or make a point of emphasis you were going to have stuff to nitpick about. Video production is still crispy as always but that was my only issue.

Honestly i think he simply doesnt like the LG Skin. I've watched him for a long time and know how much he loves his pure android experience. Nothing wrong with manufacturers customizing the UI, but at times they just degrade the UX.

To be fair the G5 had a bunch of problems that weren't apparent when it was brand new. That said I'm still rocking my G4 so maybe it's upgrade time.

Also, not a fan they moved buttons to the side of the phone instead of keeping them ALL on the back. That was really what set LG apart. I don't need volume on the side. It just makes the bezels wider than they need to be and kills a signature LG feature where physical buttons have almost always been on the back that makes so much more sense from a one fingered index finger operation standpoint.
And, again, BRING BACK THE BATTERY SWAP!!!!

what is the point of this video if every feature becomes moot by adding 'it's not perfect' at the end of it ?
It's been 3 years and 8 months since I got my g6. The fingerprint scanner stopped working at the 2 year mark, had issues with screen burn in. Battery life got worse. It lags and gets really warm when I do the usual stuff, like watching youtube videos. On the plus side, I've dropped it a dozen times (with a flimsy clear case on) and it hasn't broken yet. Getting an s20 next week, hopefully it lasts just as long, if not longer than my g6.

I am using LG G5 for 7 months now and I really like it. I only had some issues with its camera in really humid circumstances next to a waterfall. Otherwise, it works perfectly.

Shame on LG for killing the replaceable battery. Nice they kept Qi, MicroSD and the headphone jack but also hate that they put the headphone on the top and not the bottom of the phone. It makes no sense on the top.
But really... SHAME for no replaceable battery. We need at least one flagship with a swappable battery and LG was our only hope as of the the last few years. SHAME!

I used to love removable batteries, it would be a useful feature but quick charging, power banks, and better batteries overall make removable batteries not as useful as they used to be. But of course, iPhones could always use a removable battery because of their horrible battery life and mediocre charging times :)

I put about 7 months of research into finding the best phone for myself a few years back. 7 months! It was my first time purchasing a phone myself and I pay full price, no gimmicky contracts from mobile companies, so it was important that I did my homework. After all those months I found that the LG G4 was the best choice. I loved its designed, features, camera and screen. Mind you Im not a tech freak, I really didn't care about any of that but I needed a good quality phone and I kinda wanted to know what it was like to have a flagship phone.
Well after almost two years, as much as I love the phone and the company its been nothing but headaches. Ive had to send it in for replacement twice now. First problem, after three months of use, was the firmware crashed then 4 months later the screen went blank. Under warranty they fixed it without charge and was fairly fast, 2 weeks, but it was a pain to have to ship it and then use a prepaid phone(since Verizon doesn't give their customers temp phones).
My point is, I think its all a waste, unless you're a very businesslike individual who really needs a great phone then by all means but if you just needs phone that does what a phone needs to do and runs nice a flagship phone is just not worth. Too much time and money invested, never been so dissapointed. I had a slight curiosity about the new one which is why Im here(and for Brownlee!) but my novel here has reminded me how its not worth it. As soon as this one goes Ill be purchasing a phone no more than $200.

Don't mind Marques but you are biased for Samsung and Apple, the phone with edge display doesn't seem to crack in your case but this does. In my option G6 will be a choice for many due to is flat screen.
What do you really mean by SD821 is in comparison with SD835? Is SD821 too slow for you? That in my opinion will vary by microseconds.
Lastly, you mentioned the camera is bad, but what is bad? Picture quality? Saturation? Sharpness? Focusing?

Agreed but at the user's end that really does not matter. Consider your current device and your earlier device and how much does the performance thing ultimately bothers you? I use S7 (having 14nm) and also the Nexus 5 but at times Nexus 5 (having 28nm) feels more snappy. And ultimately you will enjoy if your device makes you happy.
Marques in this video also gave a minus on non-removable battery, but security point of view that should be considered a right move by LG. All others already did so long long back.
Also, G6 will be considerably cheaper than the S8.
