Really nice video! But actually you should never tamp the coffee if you are using a moka pot. It could even lead to an eyplosion because the hot water steam is not able to go trough the tamped coffee mass.
You should only tape when using an espresso machine which is working with more water pressure and therefore is able to go through the coffee.

I tamp and it's perfectly save. I know this since i mod my moka pot to extract at 6+ bar. And been using it everyday for almost 2 years now.
Mokapot is a very old design, pre ww2, they don't have CAD in those days and design things with spare a lot of safety measurement in mind. Also there's the safety valve.

Don’t follow this guys mokapot method. Why are you creating extra steps? Placing whole beans in the ground coffee area, pouring water into the top to then pour into the bottom and then tamping the coffee. Adding extra steps and a bitter coffee.

I don't get these hand grinders while camping. I don't think I would like having to sit and turn a grinder for two minutes every time I want a fresh cup of coffee 🤷

@@mikesoutside I actually found the 1zpresso grinders and found they grind really fast. Even the 1zpresso Q2 travel grinder which I have grinds a lot faster. So now the right grinder is totally worth it. It's actually fun.
