Not sure if anyone else told you, but when akainu burned white beards moustache off it was actually a censor. In the manga, he burns a third of his face off and of course, white beard just takes it.

@Vyasa r no one in op is equal to 2 top tiers like the og admirals akainu aokiji and kizaru are all stated above sengoku and garp and they also while holding back not to destroy marineford destroyed wb 1v1 wb litearly couldnt touch the admirals without using sneak attacks and yes he was old and sick but the databook confirms he was in his prime when he had his medicine and was still the strongest pirate and rayleigh is direactly stated not to be weakend when old in the databooks and kizaru when holding back pressed rayleigh so much that he couldnt even help luffy and oden is just weaker than old wb ans rayleigh
@Vyasa r young kaido has no scaling the manga and databook both state the og admirals are the strongest fighters in the navy and the most powerfull officers in the navy and oden or ray arent beating any of the admirals and no crew is beating all of marineford

With power like Whitebeard in his Not Prime, just imagine what not only him but Roger who was above Prime Whitebeard.
About Whitebeard it is always stated that he was "The only one who fought neck on neck with Roger" (clearly leaving out Garp here, but hey that was written in 2002). Furthermore you can see it clearly in Odens flashback that they fought to a standstill, without a winner.
They were equals in a 1v1 though i dare to say that Primebeards pure destructive power surpassed Rogers, mainly because of the large scale effect of his devil fruit. I'd guess that Rogers Haki surpassed Primebeards tho.

@@stainedpillow9783 for what we see in the flashbacks he was constantly in life support The same guy that was in life support let himself be stabbed in the heart then got when it got in the frontline the marine focused in bring him down and THEN he fought Akainu. After that last attack that destroyed the navy hq (who epicenter was Akainu) Akainu is shown with blood in his flowing from mouth and nose sliding into the crack created by Whitebeard attack as Whitebeard observed and then Whitebeard proceed to fight the rest of the marines.

This is NOT how the Wb/akainu exchange went in the manga 😂. Wb attacks him from behind first, Akainu takes off half his face, Wb counter punches him, exchange over. None of this rag dolling and grabbing of the collar, no helpless desperate kicking, no running for his life. I guess the animators REALLY were upset w Akainu that day 😭.
I mean, Oda makes the calls for changes in his craft, weekly pages are incredibly limited for him to show everything he wants to show and he sees the anime as the finished product (regardless of the pacing issues, which are a must do sadly, and the censoring being mandatory too because of the hours OP airs in japan), so yeah this is basically his finished vision about the fight

Apart from eventually killing Ace, i think Squardo actually have a point when he stab WB.. I mean nobody noticible from WB main crew are killed, hell the navy doesnt even targeting the WB commander, while his allies are massacred by pacifista..
What gets me is that not only did neither of them even TRY to stop Whitebeard (considering leter we see them without a scratch on them, so he didn't force his way past them),, but they never even tried to WARN Akainu. Lmao. Not a "Hey, Sakazuki! Scary suicidal old man, coming st ya!". Nothing. The assholes. 🤣

In the manga, Marco isn't shown sent flying by akainu. He stops Akainu and we cuts away.

I cannot believe that Oda not only skipped on giving plot armor to both Luffy and Ace but he gave it to Akainu of all people. Bastard died thrice in just 1 episode but somehow he survived.
You have to give it to Blackbeard. Despite his appearance, he's one of the smartest people we've encountered so far.
The man had a solid plan.
-Enough leverage to join the Warlords
-Manipulated the Navy and Whitebeards into an open war
-Used new status to infiltrate Impel Down regardless if Luffy made it there or not
-Got a solid crew of villains working under him including the former warden
-Stole both Whitebeard's fruit and title
You could also tell he had various back up plans if one of these failed and only Magellan managed to stop him so far. He started the whole Marineford saga and ended it with a bang as well.
I would also like to add that the reason I was devastated by Ace's death was not because he died. Don't get me wrong, Ace is a well-rounded character and likeable enough that if he died by himself or off screen I would be sad but seeing how it is affecting Luffy right now as he died in front of him and then thinking of how the crew would react to this? That shit hurts man. You know some of them would blame themselves and all of them would probably hurt themselves trying to go back to Luffy ASAP.
@@nameless4222 What makes it so horrible to me is how Luffy just gived evrything he had and then some! to save Ace he endured pain (from poisen) that would kill mostly anyone and he was an inch from death he still only thought about saving Ace.A normal person would think about himself and hes own pain but not Luffy.
He fighted like none has ever fighted before he used like 200% of his lifeforce thats what make this death the most painful in any anime and regular movies too!
