  • This session will help you to reflect on perspectives rooted in mythological tales. As professionals are faced with tough choices every day- it is important to be clear and reflective at the same time. Use mythological thinking tools to reflect on who wins the war? Is it the archer or the bow - which factors cause the most impact? And which wars should we actually fight?
Speaker: Devdutt Pattanaik, Author, Mythologist, Leadership Coach

I am cheering for the women in the audience who jumped up right away to ask questions at the beginning of the Q & A, instead of holding back and allowing the men speak first, as happens so often! As females we have so often been socialized to not 'take up space', to 'be polite' and to 'be gracious' by prioritizing the needs and wants of others (over our own). So often as women we have experienced unequal power relationships which have taught us that our thoughts and ideas are not as important as men's. So each time I see women boldly taking space in a mixed gender group, I cheer inwardly, and thank my sisters for leading by example, and for demonstrating that what we have to say is just as worthy, valid, and important as what anyone else has to say!
