Genuine help for people who tend to do negative self-talk. This book makes you understand what factors are important for your own happiness and what you can get rid of in order to be emotionally strong. I read it over and over so that I can apply what the book teaches to my everyday life. I also got this sense that I’m communicating with the author through the author’s personal experiences. It’s definitely worth a purchase.

But not to try and obtain power over the rest of the universe, because that will only disturb it all the more." I believe the talk is named: How to trust the universe; and this is what Eckhart Tolle is talking about towards the end of the video. Amazing.

When you can get to a place in mind that says... "everything is taken care of" you let go of neediness and like he said things you previously "needed" just start to either show up in your life or you get little nudges to take action towards a certain thing or doors just start opening for you, it is really quite amazing.

Me too. I think it is because if you get it when the ego is too much a part of the desire, the fulfillment strengthens the ego / false self more. In Christianity, they talk of God as the Giver and the thing we desire as the gift. (You can also think of God, in Tolle's terms as the Deep "I") When the ego is too involved, the gift can easily become more important than the Giver and we become attached to "it" more and more for our sense of fulfillment. We forget that the real treasure is already within us. That's how I look at It anyway. But I've often had the experience of getting things like you say, when I am no longer craving them or seeking them intensely. (But it is much easier to say than do.)

@@covalentbond7933 it’s not really chance at all.
It’s completely knowing oneself. Many people are in denial about their own neediness. Cover every angle as to why you want another person in your life…what needs are you wanting them to provide? Then go deeper.
Your subconscious is operating in opposition to the conscious, most of the time. Until one becomes aware of their subconscious programming, conditioning, and core wounds, they are at the whim of the direction of the subconscious. The conscious mind can’t out-will the subconscious.
Believing that it’s all chance…is a learned helplessness narrative. If you’re truly connected to self, aware, empowered, you’d never think much was chance.
Power of belief and law of attraction are powerful.
Check any cognitive distortions, root out any limiting beliefs.

I was in medicine, worked cardiac for over 10 years and now I’m in neuroscience..far from watching a few philosophy videos. Nice narrative btw. To make meaning out of things without much evidence (assumption), is exactly what a cognitive distortion is. It appears your thinking is rife with them, just in the comments you’ve written.
So sad. You don’t even see your own blindness. Maybe a touch of anosognosia, eh?

For the longest time, that "uneasy" surface part of me has been taking the forefront of my relationships. I lose my sense of identity in other people. I just need to be conscious and remember the deep "I" which has never left me, and embrace stillness. It is in stillness that I am deeply rooted in myself. I sincerely love this.

This is so true, after weeks with trying of meditating everyday, yesterday for the first time I reached the state of being absolutely present in my "deep I". Once there, there were no thoughts, it was not possible for the thoughts to enter this state. It's truly amazing and a bit scary because it's unusual for the self. After this I watch another video of Eckhart Tolle and I felt actually blessed for those who made me suffer so I could take the decision to become present.

    • @adamdownes4725
      @adamdownes4725 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

You’ve never lost it! It’s ever-present and always available to you. It’s only when the mind says “I’ve lost it” and is seeking too much that it gets lost in thinking and concepts again, so the presence isn’t lost, only overlooked.
What I’ve realised and forgotten over and over again is just how simple accessing the deep I is. You’re reading this text right now, now notice that you’re aware of the fact you’re aware of reading the text. That’s as simple as it is.
When you find an anchor of presence that works very well for you, bring all of your attention there. But then after that is established become conscious that you are conscious, and that is pure awareness. Very little room for thinking, or feeling like “I’ve lost it” because you realise you ARE it.
All that’s required is the willingness to go there, the conscious choice to be conscious, and to be open to whatever comes into your experience 😊. I wish you wellness and peace ✌️

There's a feeling of wanting to be a "saviour/super hero" for my family. Take away their financial stresses. I grew up with less, and I've also experienced what to me at the time was a decent amount of money from my Baghdad deployment in 2003. Music has been in my soul since childhood and I aim to spread a message through it, even though it seems the market for non-violent hip-hop isn't booming. Feels like I'm chasing an idea of success that runs a little faster than my small legs can keep up with. Haha.. But eventually I'll find that balance. I'm hopeful😎💯👑
