It's a childhood favourite :) I'm an Indian but I have lived in Singapore since I was 5 years old. If only pandan leaves were sold everywhere in the world haha! It's easy and totally delicious.
I am never a big fan of bubur chacha but i guess as i grow older I miss what reminds me of home. Will make this asap! Thanks for the video, you're an eloquent speaker :)
My grandma is a nyonya descendant. She can cook anything about nyonya food and she is the grand chef in my family. i hope one day she will pass down all her secret recipe to me!
Ah straight forward, easy to cook. Lucky for me the coloured tapioca dough is sold ready made in Singapore can cut down on preparation time. Already cooked 3 times n success, except a bit thick a bit too much coconut milk.
I think it is similar to bubur mutiara cause of the coconut milk and sago. This has more flavour from different ingredients :D Taro is also known as yam or in malay, we call it Ubi Keladi.
I'm a New Yorker, I had that growing up in Malaysia. Always loved the Malaysian desserts and nonya food. I'll definitely try this recipe soon! Thank you.
Thanks for this recipe. This is my 5th time trying it and it is finally successful. For those having problem with the dough ,here is a tip.......... I mix 1/2 cup of boiling hot water to about 100g of tapioca flour and mix them up with a small spoon until it semi hot or warm and then I use my hands to mix them up. In this video, her hands were quite clean but trust me, mine was full of flour and when it became sticky (the dough), I put more flour on my hands so that the dough won't stick to it. You also need to boil the dough for at least 15-20 mins so that when you put it in the fridge, the dough won't be hard. ( What I meant is when this dessert is put in the fridge overnight, the dough will become hard unlike the soft texture they have when they were cook) I also like mine not too thick so I mix around 750-800ml water to 500g of coconut milk and I minus the banana and sago (too lazy to buy them) and it turned out great. Yummy...I am getting fatter too!!

Hi there how long do u take to cook the sago to be transparent.. if I big the bigger n smaller one also do I need to soak it first ? Understand from friends that bigger need to soak and cooking time is 1 hr plus is't?
I was curious about the sago and the tapioca flour, so I googled it and I found out that it's used to make bubble tea! That's really cool. How could flour turn into jelly??? #mindblown

Hello Grace, I have some questions. I'm not a big fan of artificial colouring. May I use natural coloring from panda leaves and rose petals for the tapioca starch.
