Take some advance driver training or track training. You steering technique is shocking. Really bad. And in a DSG you have no reason for your hands to ever leave the steering wheel. Your taking your hands off the wheel and adjusting them to make a turn is very poor technique and you can lose control. Watch some WRC drivers and pay attention to the steering technique. Why? The 6 speed DSG unit from the Mk5 GTI is outdated and therefore uses slower software, has a far worse impact on fuel consumption, is clumsy and regularly changes gear unexpectedly or revs out without reason. The 7 speed unit is a far more modern, and overall better gearbox. Have owned a Mk5 and a 6C Polo GTI DSG and the difference in the gearbox alone is amazing, never had any issues with reliability with either box. Manual or 7DSG all the way!
