Hope this can give you some ideas of how to beat this boss without Paragon cheesing. | On your poison champion try to build in high sustainability to reduce wave deaths, and consider options such as Venomage etc ! Get creative & goodluck :)
An interesting combo you might want to give attention to: Pairing Mortu Macaab to Ambassador Lethelin. Simply place TAUNT to Mortu and watch your enemy PERISH XD
I had miscreated monster. The stuns, shields, and ally protect did it for me. I had ithos as my spear to miscreated monster as the shield
Honestly you're the MVP for posting this strategy.
Used Scyl with Urogrim (because of the heals) rather than Tomb Lord.
And my daughter used Scyl and Noct (also for heals) ^_^
Works fast and way better than Paragon cheese imo.

This was so insanely helpful! I honestly never read the description of peril or just didn't think to use poison. I ended up using Kalvalax and Scyll. Worked like a charm! Thanks man!

You have helped me out of so many spots I was hard stuck in! Please do a late stage Ice Golem guide. He's easy for most but some of us still struggle with him.
My strategy was very similar to yours, but I used Geomancer + Scyl (Geo on lifesteal set). This duo is so much fun throughout the whole nightmare campaign, I remember having a blast in the 3 valks waves.

thanks for this, very helpful vid, dark kael & helicath worked for me, also thanks to the protection dk didn't need to be maxed out, lvl 50 with mostly lvl 12 gear.
Thank you sooo much finally was able to complete the last stage in less then 10 minutes, 2:40 thanks to your advice and video! Now to try and get progression on the road to Ramantu, still stuck on 3v3 missions ( really dislike that game mode) any advice would be very much appreciated.

Dude I had this on the back burner finally decided to try to complete had dark kael slapped some regen gear and it took three tries to get it done thanx man this was a lot of help

Duchesh / tomb lord did it for me . I tryied some times with duches + dps but was procing his passive and was losing duches in 1 hit...Your idea with tomb lord worked at first try ! Thanks for this
Thanks a lot, finally used Urogrim + Scyl and beat him first try! Somehow I hadn't thought about champions that can place debuffs and don't have an AOE on their A1 !

Just over two years of playing done so much in the game and just couldn't do the final stage i just kept feeding para but after watching this i used my udk with dark kael using your strategy and now back to 40 shards for f2p thats since jan collecting lol thank you sir yst

That was an awesome Tip not to attack Boss and target minions with Poisons all enemy spread.
12-7 Nightmare was pending for me since 5-6months...I used Scyl + Tomb Lord to finally finish this and get 1 Sacred Sharad...Awesome YST...Thanks a lot Man... :-)
Hey YST! What are your thoughts on Gnut's A3 on this boss? Do you think he could one shot Mortu with that 3 hitter?
I didn't realise it at the time but i had massive rng in my favour to beat this boss first time try! I used hellicath and scyl! Full auto...lol! For months i couldn't work out why people complained so much about this campaign level! That was until i got to doom tower hard levels and mortu started wrecking my team and i actually researched what he does!! Lol doh so lucky!

Hey YST, in my comp I ran Aniri and Vlad, affinity for all levels, and Vlad's entire skill set is op for this. Block active skills, perfect Vail, leech, push back turn meter, have him in a hybrid build for damage and acc, god seeker of course in her regen/immortal set up. Fast clears too.

I just completed NM 12-7 with a team of Siphi and Toragi (using the poison idea: don't attack the boss so he can't use Peril, but put poison on him to knock down his health) Toragi only puts poison on you if you attack him so in that way he's not attacking the boss. We both single shot the two minions until they were dead and meanwhile Mortu-Macaab was down to about half health. This is where it got tricky because now we had to attack him. I could only hope that the 20% chance for peril did not go off. It took several hits to down him and I don't think he got off a Peril on us because we both lived thru the fight. So we completed 12-7 and got the sacred shard! Hell yeah!
Guys use Geomancer if you have him!! Big boss goes down very quickly as long as you have someone to keep themselves alive and revive him. I used Duchess and geo, but scyl or even Elva autumnborn worked as well.
I’ve done it with UDK and Kyoku :) No problem duo 😎
Beating Mortu-Macaab should give 10 sacred shard for how hard he is. I did it a while back with Rotos and Sir Nic before the Dark Kael/Geo etc.
Geo is good for this? Do you need dark kael and if not can you elaborate on it?
When I first 3 starred it I used Chaagur and UDK on FULL AUTO

Geo and UDK. Built for NM clan boss. UDK in a toxic set. Both 170 speed, 170 ACC. Took a couple of tries to get an auto finish.
Did it with Paragon and Scyl, but had to be manual. Ty.
i ALMOST did it with Ma'shaled and UDK... but i ended up having to use paragon
I do have Richtoff now so i could probably do it now

Yes, more of this type of progression and mid to early game stuff.
I find it disheartening when you content creators have this high lvl gear and the like and crush this game and a player like myself that has been playing since December 20022 and can't even touch what you can do.
I liked what you did with the dwarf Conellia. I use her a great deal. As a matter of fact she gets banned almost all of the time in 'Live arena'...lol

I got through to 12-7 with UDK and Ma'Shalled. Still stuck and trying your strategies now.
When it eventually rolls back around, would love to see a video on some different ways to beat floor 114 of doom tower hard rotation 3 (siphi x rotos waves). Gave myself a migraine trying to get through it and flopped.
Ill note this down for when it cycles back round :)
Udk works well here to nullify the rotos and theb full cc for the siphi's
Teodor/Islin combo worked for me (not directly attacking the boss)
Could I use Frozen Banshee as a budget option? I have her on 60 fully booked.
I have sycl of drake with 200+ speed but not dark kael so which champion can be replace to dark kael? I don't even have kael I'm playing atleast 7 months but didn't get kael 🥲 my starter champion is Elhain I completed easy, normal and hard mode with Elhain and Rounda please guide me I wanna to complete nightmare
Kalvalax maybe good option, places poisons with passive. Gonna give it a try.

I just did it last week with artak in regen with good rng. Too mw like 5 attempts
I've only ever done the fight twice. The first time, I had already pulled a Paragon some time before, so used the cheese method to not muck about. The second time, I came across the fight on my f2p, I had no paragon and died about 6 times before stopping. I still haven't gone back to it, but got a skullcrusher and kyoku since then and thought about using one of them, maybe comboed with artak or gnishak. I like the Scyl idea, but not sure what champ to combo with her with, I lack the options listed. Maybe a Geo? Just got one on the f2p.
I got lucky and won it on the first try with Ma'Shalled and Hurndig. Haven't been back since.
Just completed this after playing this game for 3 yrs
I don't have any of these champions but looking through my roster it seems it could be done with Occult Brawler as he places a poison with his passive
I do have Teodor but his A1 is AoE >.<
Actually scratch that because the poison he places isn't reliable enough you are likely to kill the adds before the boss is dead and at that stage you will have to hit him and proc the special >.

I used Herndig and duchess. My herndig is fast and has 3 refresh accessories so he keeps the turn meter at 0
I just did skullcown in swift parry gear, took 300 energy tho
I used mountain king and scyl... mountain king all hp% gloves chest and boots. Since he is red affinity when a peril goes off he is the target and tanks it.
I got really lucky and pulled 2 Sir Nicks. Walked right through nightmare with them.
I also pulled 2 Nicks and that doesn't really make me feel lucky xD. Seeing the many quality void leggo's I'n still lacking
I used geo and udk .geo is so good
Used Ninja + Scyl, hp burn (luckily) on the side mobs, then just turn metre/damaged him down.

I used geo and a single target dmg dealer. Hp burn for the win
Ninja and Krisk. Krisk puts up his ally protect(mine does enough damage to assist with the minions) then Ninja A3 and due to Ninja being Magic, Mortu couldn't take him down(even with peril)
i've just tried to do this with single targetting only and boss still perils me :(

I had crazy luck lol. Regen dmg krisk 4th try🤣 he hit murto so many times but his peril didn't activate.
I used Wukong and Cardiel. Totally did it. Finally.. lol
i tried 100s of combos before i pulled a paragon and booked his unkillable with no lvls and beat it easy
Syl and harima for me he cant peril you with harimas passive
I used mashalled as lead with torogi
I did it with roxam and scyl on main account than with udk and magnarr on the ftp
Sycl geo and 200 energy lol ty
