    I've been watching paddle boarding videos for months and I've learned more in the last four and a half minutes than I have in that time. Wow.

    This is the best beginner SUP video I’ve found on TH-cam. I’m a WPA certified instructor and I use this one for anyone not taking a lesson, but who is going out for the first time. There are a lot of how to SUP videos out there that demonstrate glaring errors in what they teach, and often discrepancies between what they say and what they are showing… such as saying don’t stroke past your hip, then they are carrying the stroke to the tail in the demo. This video covers all the essentials for a newby and does so accurately. Thank you so much Isle!!!

    I am just about to start paddleboarding and so exited. I'm not a great swimmer so falling off in deep water is terrifying for me but I have my pfd for support. These videos are great!!! Thank you! 🏄‍♂️

    Your videos are amazing ,
    But what is the safe ? When puddling i use life jacket or wetSuit.

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! Safety gear depends on the conditions, local requirements and activity. For general paddling in flat & open water conditions we recommend always wearing a leash and life jacket (inflatable or regular). If you are paddling in colder water, dress for the water or be prepared in case you fall in.

    Very informative. I wonder if it applies to kayaking when using the paddle correctly.

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found it helpful! Using a paddle efficiently is very similar with SUP and kayak, with some differences related to blade shape, seated vs. standing and the ability to engage core muscles when kayaking if you have a foot brace. We will be releasing a kayaking instructional series later this year!

    What's that letter or sign in the beginning of the video on ur paddle ?

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's our yin-yan (better in balance) "S" logo - if you look at the ISLE logo it's just the S pulled out by itself.

    How so you get back on if you fall off in the middle of the lake?

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a good question, and honestly would have been good to cover here! You want to grab the carry handle from the side (leave paddle in water, you can get it after back on board), or grab rails of board from the tail, then kick with your feet to bring your body level onto the surface of the water - once your body is level with water surface (including your legs), final kicks and pull with your arms to pull yourself up and onto the board. (If you leave your feet/legs dangling straight down, you'll never be able to pull yourself up onto the board).

    "always paddle with friend". I get the leash and the lifejacket (although I think its totally unnecessary to have both and never used neither of these once) but lets not treat ourselves as children. Supping alone is awsome! Its freedom of going wherever you want in your own speed. Just you and the water - a peacefull experience.

    I’m still a bit wary about standing

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We know it can be intimidating! Even when kneeling your still paddling and learning so keep at it. One tip of you're nervous to stand is to practice on land until you are comfortable going from kneeling to standing.

    My biggest issue was trying to balance. I think I made it 32 seconds

    • @Islesurfboards
      @Islesurfboards  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep trying, and remember that a wider board will offer the most stable platform for learning. If balance is a factor we do sell quite a few of our 12' Megalodon to customers looking for ultimate stability, even for single person use.

      Trial and error is a great learning method, but with some tips in advance you're ahead of the game. And with paddlesports safety is a huge issue for those just getting started. Paddle boarding is definitely accessible enough to learn on your own, but nuanced enough for lifetime of learning and discovery in the details of technique.
