You just heard the best female vocalist in the world. And this performance is one of her best rendition. I've seen this performance hundreds of times, but I'm still impressed!!
It is a combo of how the arrangements are so well done with her masterful voice. There is an emotional pulling back and forth that is created with the spaces that are opened in the arrangements. Or how the back ground vocals will fill in to give your ears/senses a break. Then wham she blasts you with a huge emotional vocal belt. The dynamic range is off the charts but you just don't notice it, you feel it. It is done so well and she isn't trying to be, a look at me "show off" with her vocal skills. She is telling a personal story and taking you along on the emotional highs and lows. It really is singing at it's highest level. If you want to react to a newer song, there is new Sohyang just released. She sang the same song as Celine Dion did in the Olympics opening ceremony. Hymne à L’Amour on the KBS Moving Voices series. I love BOTW but there are maybe already a 100 reaction videos of this song and it is an old version. Hymne à L’Amour is very recent. Do a reaction of both Celine's version and Sohyang's version back to back. Listen to both and react to both. They are both excellent but different in their own way. It isn't one being better or worse. I believe Sohyang sang it as a tribute to Celine struggles and a celebration of her victory of being able to sing again in front of a world wide audience.
