Some future ideas for YTP Retrospective: Waxonator: The most controversial YTPer of the past Kortez3000/Santawithteeth: One of the first influential SpongeBob/Spingebill ytpers Captpan6: Currently active pooper Captainohyeah: The creator of the classic "Pride Patties" Stuart K Reily: YTP news anchor, former Youchew god and currently a game reviewer
My crowning achievement on TH-cam came on my old account. Deepercutt released a YTPMV called "You're too slow" set to the Sparta song. It got an average of 3/5 stars. A critic of Deepercutt's at the time gleefully made a response video, which back then meant uploading a video titled "Re: Insert Name Here". So 'Re: You're Too Slow' was uploaded, pointing out with MS paint and Hypercam that Deepercutt's video got a mere 3/5 stars from his fans. Only, the response video itself ALSO got only 3/5. So I made a video called Re: Re: You're Too Slow poking fun at Re: You're Too Slow for achieving only 3 stars. My video was ALSO only given 3 stars, and set off a massive multi-day chain of Re: Re: Re: Re: etc. videos, all criticizing the pervious for only having 3 stars, while also themselves only having 3 stars. I was just a kid and couldn't have been more chuffed that my video was acknowledged by Deepercutt himself, and also started a short-lives "fad" in that community. Just a memory this video dredged up, haven't thought of that in years. Love this series. Seeing such a thoughtful and nuances take on an absurdly specific topic like this is NOT something I'd expect to see, but it's turned out to be both hilarious and informative. Cheers!
He's absolutely my favorite of the OG's. I discovered him back in 06 or 07, "Robotnik wants KFC" was the first YTP I watched that genuinely made me laugh my ass off.
Same here. The first one for me is "WELCOME TO THE DUNGEON OF MY HAUNTED HOUSE" from Bobomb99. TH-cam randomly showed me it while binging M.U.G.E.N videos back then and it split my sides. Got addicted to YTP ever since. CD-i will always be special to me.
Thanks for highlighting my comment. You know, I never considered that part of the issue with YTP history is that, due to YTs policies on copyright(either then or now) a lot of the history got lost due to nuked accounts. A good example is Awful Fawful. That dude nuked his main account, then nuked his side accounts. The videos that are left are re-uploads and no one really knows anything in terms of chronology. I vaguely recall that he had a really old acc called "Awful Fawful the Fallafel" at least 10 years ago but I can't find it at all anymore and it's lost to time. Even the great Stuart K. Riley himself had like 3 or 4 alt accounts and his content is scattered. Only weirdoes like me who were around when his stuff was still new(and posted on one main accounts) can really navigate and enjoy his stuff. At first I was a bit miffed that you started this series focusing on the Spa-dinner guys and I thought this was because of their popularity but I never considered that it's because they are actually well documented(perhaps due to their popularity). As much as I love the FX heavy stuff it's hard to find info on guys like MadAnonymous or GiganticProblem666. As for Deepercut, his best poop is by far "Yugiis undying love for portable consoles". I love that one.
12:46 Oh shit that's me! Appreciate the shout-out (although I'd consider myself more of a general "editor" than a "pooper"). Manually revisiting and doing my best to recreate each little gag and edit really gave me a new appreciation for the tight pacing and number of great gags that were packed into the original poop, and the reclusive Deepercutt sending a quick message of thanks on Twitter really made it feel worth it. Really enjoying your perspective and analysis on the YTP art form!
If they're not already on the list, I'd lose to see a retrospective on Imaperson. "SUPER DUPER SUPER MEN" in particular is one YTP I keep coming back to watch year after year because of how perfectly the whole thing flows.
I'd love to see my personal favourite 'Kroboproductions'. or more recently known as 'Dikekike'. He made some absolute gems back in the day that still hold up today.
Same here been watching his stuff for a long time I remember rediscovering him because of his MLP and fresh prince ytps (sometimes the two would crossover)
Many (truly) old school poops from Sheezyart (including DukeOfFortuneMan) were reuploaded to this account in late 2008, though the videos were produced between 2006-7. www.youtube.com/@Dukecember/videos These influenced a bunch of YTP around the time TH-cam was starting to take off. I'd say that Power Rangers was a more prevalent YTP source until Mama Luigi and CDi blew up.
I really love how you took the initiative to catalog the full history of YTP’s and ytpers, given only a few critics/reviewers have seen their value. Look forward to more in the series
Deepercutt was certainly one of my all time favourites. But I was a big fan of his videos long before he released Revenge of the Mad Madman. My favourite videos of his were: • The King's Coming! (Parts 1-4) • Jacky Chen Visits Rule 34 • Shreearrsh • Joey visits the Left 4 Dead ParAIDS • The Tennis match with CaptPan6 I'm glad that you made this video. I feel a mixture of feeling slightly uncomfortable but also really inexplicably happy that one of my niche childhood interests has now become a recognised cultural phenomena on the internet and people are making pseudo-documentaries and retrospectives about it. If this video is part of a series on TH-cam Poop retrospectives, then I heartily recommend you add • CaptPan6 • KroboProductions to this series too, because they were regarded as the most popular ones back in the late 2000s as well, along with WalrusGuy and Deepercutt. In fact, I always liked to think of CaptPan, Deepercutt, Walrusguy and Krobo as the Big Four. (And maybe also) • Waldfield • DirtyPotter as well, because these guys built and developed on sentence mixing and took it to a WHOLE new level which inspired even me, many many years later.
Another great look into a legend! I think thechairman45 would be a great look into YTP's past. He definitely had a unique style and influence on the genre.
As a YTP connoisseur, I LOVE that somebody is makng videos like these to go over the history of the art form. It is an overdue study in my opinion. I'm very excited to see who you cover next, though based on who all you have covered I defintely expect to see Krobo, CS188, Fishtitan64 and others. I am anxiously awaiting your next upload in this series, please keep these coming.
I used to really like craaazycat13 kortez3000 and titleinlarge who made luigi has god powers. Not ytp but IAMTHEGANG left a big impression on me too as a kid
i really love these commentaries on youtube poops, i sincerely think they're an undervalued facet of pop cultural art that doesn't get enough attention. A lot of people would argue with defining them as such but discourteous art is still very much art. Really appreciate these videos :) (also i come here to trawl the comments looking for ytp recs LMAO)
There's this old animater/YTPer who name wa kitty or crazycat something. He would use paint to draw/animate cdi characters. I think His biggets contribution to youtube poop was the birth of Dinner Blaster. I'd love to see you cover his work as it was a mix of early Newgrounds with Cdi charcters. (and Scatman for some reason)
Since you brought up YTPMVs in this video, I'd like to add ROFLTrax to your future videos. ROFLTrax (later renamed Breakbit Music) is actually long defunct, but it was a collective of YTPers who made professional-looking music videos in the YTP editing style. Notable members included Breakmaster Cylinder, McMaNGOS, mrsimon, and many more. An archive is available here: www.youtube.com/@BreakbitMusic/videos
you should talk about durhamrockerz the king of koth poops. he also was an artist in the medium in general, some of his other stuff was slept on like the fresh prince stuff
Captpan6 was basically Deepercutt's direct rival for a while there and is still active today, he's worth looking into if you haven't already. He even did a few YTP Tennis matches with Deepercutt, and one with DaThings more recently. Kortez3000/SantaWithTeeth is another older name that is semi-important, dude went all-out on making SpongeBob say the N-word and utterly destroying eardrums with loud noises. He perfectly embodies the chaotic, incoherent early YTP style, right down to the edginess and spamming of every possible effect. Nearly every one of his videos ended with a dimensional vortex opening directly to Hell itself, basically.
I always loved many generations of youtube poops.. but these days the best poopers are animators too and my kot... Deepercut I didn't know much of ... well cept his Return of a mad madman. Still enjoying this series alot due to the retrospective on a world I always liked.. but never got too into!
I dont know if youre still doing this, but Kroboproductions, WLDFLD/waldfield, Tomservo3 and ESPECIALLY Swishfilmsinc are great candidates for subjects
Quality video, but it's strange how you go back and forth calling Deepercutt a guy, and a "they." Is he a shape-shifting amoeba? Lol Good memories with his videos... except notably for RE4: Deepercutt Edition. I always found that one to be lacking. Less natural flow of comedy. Too choppy. It's telling of how memorable I find his work to be, though, seeing as I remember this over a decade later. Good times.
If you liked this video, please make sure to leave a like and comment. This series will return with more frequency in January. Flashcember is right around the corner!
Where Video?
To this day I still can't watch that emotional Spider-Man 2 scene without laughing thanks to deepercutt
Really appreciate the use of Yume Nikki music throughout this video. Very appropriate!
Revenge of the Mad Madman is genuinely one of my favorite YTPs ever. It never gets old.
Some future ideas for YTP Retrospective:
Waxonator: The most controversial YTPer of the past
Kortez3000/Santawithteeth: One of the first influential SpongeBob/Spingebill ytpers
Captpan6: Currently active pooper
Captainohyeah: The creator of the classic "Pride Patties"
Stuart K Reily: YTP news anchor, former Youchew god and currently a game reviewer
Waxonator was controversial? What happened to him?
@@Evilriku13 He basically had an ego to him that many YTPers back in the day saw as bad.

That's awesome, it's cool to have any level of impact on that scene. It's funny that fads live so briefly yet age like fine wine forever in memory
MrSimonAlt is a must to cover. I'm an old youtube head who first started watching Poops since 2006 and I miss those golden days
He's absolutely my favorite of the OG's. I discovered him back in 06 or 07, "Robotnik wants KFC" was the first YTP I watched that genuinely made me laugh my ass off.

Deepercutt. A total mess, and we all know it...

Freddie Ruins Sam's Life. Nuff said.

Love this series and your dives into Internet culture in general.
Your YTPer reviews deserve an award. I love how you’re doing these.
Very cool to see you upkeep the history of YTP like this. It was an amazing genre

I think we need a video for “Racism in the Mushroom Kingdom.” That poop alone is state of the art!
Need to do vids on MrTennek and 1upclock too. They shouldn't be forgotten.

would LOVE to see a Fesh Pince 1 and/or 2 commentary
I've been making YTPs for over 8 years and it's quite interesting to see how much things have changed.
gotta mention kroboproductions next

I'd love to see a retrospective on you tube poopers such as LinkOnDrugs, Awful Fawful, MASSIMOvtv and others with a similar style like theirs.
I would love to see you do CS188 as that was the main ytper I wached as a kid. : 3
I always loved many generations of youtube poops.. but these days the best poopers are animators too and my kot...
Deepercut I didn't know much of ... well cept his Return of a mad madman.
Still enjoying this series alot due to the retrospective on a world I always liked.. but never got too into!
Thanks
Id like to see you talk about AwfulFawful or Linkondrugs they were my favorites from the early 2010s
If you're looking for commentary on the creation of YTPs, I suggest watching some of CS188's YTP making streams.
Deepercutt is a girl. Heard their voice in an old Skype group call in 2009.
MEI AIDS.
You're a meshi
deepercutt when a knife goes deeper into his arm (its a deeper cut)
nice vid! would love to see anything on dathings or cs188
hi BluShades I think you're really cool :)
i'd love to see a commentary track for jallerbo's sex joke event horizon poop
Where did deepercut go?
Are they still alive?
I dont know if youre still doing this, but Kroboproductions, WLDFLD/waldfield, Tomservo3 and ESPECIALLY Swishfilmsinc are great candidates for subjects
