This was probably my favorite B Side. It was all timing based, all execution. And probably my favorite B Side song. It was one of the only B Sides that didn't feel too long, along with Forsaken City. Reflection in particular just felt like a slog after a while, too long.
knightshousegames yeah, reflection b was a really annoying b-side, you always think its gonna end after every screen but it just doesnt for me site b also feels very short but i think reflection c is a forgiving c-side, and resort c a very horrible one
@Andrew Stanton I haven't tried, nor do I want to. I speedrun classic which is more technical than the full game(fight me). The full game is incredible but I have more fun running classic as there is more to learn

I honestly can't see the resemblence to the original Scattered and Lost theme at all here. Seems Christa Lee said "fuck it" and just made a straight up rave for this one. Definitely not complaining, mind you.
If anything, I almost wish there was a remix of this track for the C-Side. I haven't unlocked the C-Sides just yet, but I've seen a few vids of them, and I almost wish that they had an extra track for those. Knowing Matt and his propensity for insane stage design (played "Jumper 2", completed "Dim", "Jumper 3", and "MoneySeize") I'd figure that if he put in that much effort, remixed B-Side tracks for the C-Sides might be the icing on the cake. Sort of acknowledging how skillful the player is, if you catch my drift.

Then everyone else Madeline meets during the story like Theo, Granny, and Badeline also come to groove on the dance floor. The music starts to sound really catchy too.
Oh I'm imagining this with 2D sprites in a 3D dance floor in Oshiro's hotel with madeline jamming into a microphone with ominous lyrics popping into the screen while Oshiro absolutely loses his shit in the form of breakdancing

I died 553 times on this c-side. That last room where you have to time jumping on Oshiros head is so difficult. It was like 2am when I did it and I screamed so loud I woke my whole family up :/
good thing is, if you do a dash cancel/superdash you can actually reach the platform without oshiros help. That makes it much easier to deal with that part (unless you fail the superdash like 4 times in a row like me because you get nervous/impatient)

It has been pure pain and agony and as of right now, I think I'm stuck in the room right before the boss. One year after knowing this game, this soundtrack still bangs on my ears as to how good it is. Nowadays, I don't even listen to radio music. Just Celeste, Undertale and a bunch of other games besides the classical music. And this is a truly memorable piece of art

I don't recognize any musical connection to the Hotel's normal themes in this track, but as a standalone track it's awesome, upbeat, positive, nostalgic ... and I never ONCE got upset by any of the challenges this B-side threw at me (something I cannot say for most B-sides).

just got into celeste due to some good recommends, and this was the first b side i found and completed. in fact i just finished it about 10 minutes ago. i do indeed feel fully ass raped, and now my fingers are all sore from beating this b side. cant wait to see how much the rest of them are gonna hurt.
FINALLY, after months and more than x5000 deaths, i managed to speedrun this B side in less than 5 minutes (4:54.34) without dying in one go, it was hard as all hell and i wouldn't wish that even on my worst enemies, but finally i could do it. Also this is my jam

I can almost hear this throughout most of Celeste, especially its B- and C-Sides. Fancy footwork, hyper-dashes, triangle jumps, the works. Surely an immense series of tests all around. Even when I'm not playing the game, I can hear this in my sleep, and the B-Sides, especially Chapter 3's, get replayed over and over.
@DarkCoreX My understanding of it is that it happens when you hit a wall-mounted spring, or a bounce pad (in Chapter 6: Reflection) from its left or right side, alternatively. You get a slight upwards diagonal boost once you hit it, and a larger boost when you dash at it and hit it. So, if you dash in a horizontal direction, (say, to the right:➡), you'll get bounced diagonally away from the spring or bounce pad (in this case, up-left:↖). Which makes a sort of triangular arc, when you think about it, hence why I called it a "triangle jump", back then. There might be a more appropriate term for them, but I picked up the term from Mai Shiranui's (from "The King of Fighters" series of fighting games) move, *"Sankaku Tobi"* , which means, *"Triangle Jump".* That's when Mai leaps onto a wall (or the side of the screen), and leaps off it for a greater height. Please excuse the long explanation. 😅
This is the kinda of music you'd hear in like a 2D Sonic game, like a haunted casino or something, it's so groovy but with a lingering undertone of something hiding around the corners

this song definitely kept me going through this b-side the cycle based platforming still had me going "god damn it" every time I died but it was a very determined sort of frustration
by the time i got to the B sides in my original playthrough i had mostly just started listening to other things while grinding the game so i missed out on this absolute banger the first time sadly
I know I'm late to this but to anyone still working on finishing B or C sides or Farewell it's ok dude keep pushing it took me forever too but the payoff is so worth it Also this is so incredibly good that it changed my mind from me hating this level to liking it
I was about to get this on my switch but xbox live has the game for free. I think im on chapter 5. B side tapes are awesome and remind me of a super meatboy/binding of Isaac gameplay. Challenging but rewarding to complete.

This B-side as a whole gave me hell (517 deaths), but that one room where you have the rows of blobs going up and down super fast and you have to dash with perfect timing to avoid them, UGH. But seriously, the music is what keeps me going every time.
this GAME. it has amazing gameplay, a captivating and relatable story, and the soundtrack is absolutely STELLAR. the music really helps take the sting off of my many (13,000) deaths.
I died 786 times on this level, spending an hour and a half in total, yet I didn't rage or get mad once. This game is incredibly designed to make it so that *I* don't rage at dying that much
The B Side of Celestial Resort was one of the most fun platforming B sides this game has to offer. It was just good fun and rematching with Mr Oshiro was just sick. I had 491 attempts on the B Side.
The dust bunnies drove me mad on this b side but what can I say, the track slapped and that kinda kept me going. All the music in this game is fantastic - amazing job by Lena and all the people who made the B side tracks!

My understanding of it is that it happens when you hit a wall-mounted spring, or a bounce pad (in Chapter 6: Reflection) from its left or right side, alternatively.
You get a slight upwards diagonal boost once you hit it, and a larger boost when you dash at it and hit it.
So, if you dash in a horizontal direction, (say, to the right:➡), you'll get bounced diagonally away from the spring or bounce pad (in this case, up-left:↖).
Which makes a sort of triangular arc, when you think about it, hence why I called it a "triangle jump", back then.
There might be a more appropriate term for them, but I picked up the term from Mai Shiranui's (from "The King of Fighters" series of fighting games) move, *"Sankaku Tobi"* , which means, *"Triangle Jump".*
That's when Mai leaps onto a wall (or the side of the screen), and leaps off it for a greater height.

this song definitely kept me going through this b-side
the cycle based platforming still had me going "god damn it" every time I died but it was a very determined sort of frustration
by the time i got to the B sides in my original playthrough i had mostly just started listening to other things while grinding the game so i missed out on this absolute banger the first time sadly
This song made me know Celeste, and it's something I'll never regret, besides, this part (1:56) is... ✨Celestial✨

I was about to get this on my switch but xbox live has the game for free. I think im on chapter 5. B side tapes are awesome and remind me of a super meatboy/binding of Isaac gameplay. Challenging but rewarding to complete.
Glad to see this at 600K+ views. It's one of the best songs in the game, and certainly stood out to me when I first played this B-Side.

This B-side as a whole gave me hell (517 deaths), but that one room where you have the rows of blobs going up and down super fast and you have to dash with perfect timing to avoid them, UGH. But seriously, the music is what keeps me going every time.
