When I first tried to learn guitar, 30 year ago, this was the song I played at my first recital... good memories there. I'm pretty stoked that you posted this, Justin. Thanks for doing this; it really mean a lot!
Love this lesson Justin thanks for this - just started having guitar lessons on my electric but its encouraging to see the chords I have learned are useful off the bat if I can switch between them a bit quicker so its inspired me to practice a bit more as I love The Eagles ha

I notice you throw in the occasional Dsus4. The way I would instinctively do it. I also like the idea of playing the 1 & 3 bass notes. The only problem with that is it means playing a conventional G shape not the typical Eagles G where I would play all open strings except the the two Gs on the E strings while muffling the A string. I can work around that. Cheers George.

Justin, is that the James Taylor "A" chord finger placement I am witnessing? I tried his "A" while learning "Fire and Rain" but ditched it due to fat finger syndrome. May have to revisit on a classic guitar perhaps. Great lessons mate.

No, the music is based in the key of D and the harminic and melodic structure (chords, melodies, harmonies, lead guitar fills and solos etc.) use the D major scale and the chords derived from it = D, Em, F#m, G, A, Bm. Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher
That's not the right key. Peacefull Easy Feeling is in key E. Its the best song for teaching late beginner students E Esu4 to A A7 B7 chord changes. I used it successfully with students for 15 years. B7 forces a student to angle their hand towards the headstock. The same hand position needed for Esus4. It's amazing how much essential technique a late beginner can learn from one song.

When Chris Layton was awakened and told Stevie Ray Vaughan`s helicopter was missing he said this song was playing on the radio in Stevie`s room when he got the hotel to unlock the door and he saw the undisturbed bed with mints on the pillow. So that hit me because of the effect music had on me after my only brother was killed in a car accident in 1979 coming back from a Kansas/Van Halen concert in Shreveport, La.
Check what Justin says starting at 1min 05 secs. It is a version made easier for beginners without barre chords. These open chords can match the original with a capo. Justin explains that too. Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher
your chords are all wrong. This song is played in E with a full E, Esus4, A major and F sharp minor. Very straightforward. Just play along and you will know your chords do not come close.
Love the Eagles… my son plays the guitar… I’m a 55 yr old just learning for the 2nd time. Love your lessons.
Rock on!
Learning the the second time. I relate.😹

When you say play in the key of d do you mean we need the tune it down to d?
No, the music is based in the key of D and the harminic and melodic structure (chords, melodies, harmonies, lead guitar fills and solos etc.) use the D major scale and the chords derived from it = D, Em, F#m, G, A, Bm.

0:42
That A should be half measure of Em first, then A
All you have to do is to capo up at the 2nd fret and play it

Yep 👍👍
If you listen the song has been simplified it for beginners and makes reference to the original being in the key of E.
On the intro isn't there a Dsus4
Surprised Don Henley hasn't blocked this !
Give it time
How old was you when you start playing guitar
A real kid. I started teaching guitar when I was 12 :)

In D?
my favorite line: “against your G so A”

Did you get poor for all the song licences on your app? But great song tutorial, thanks :-)
"I want to G with you in the D chord..." sounds quite naughty.
it would be nice to give STATUS QUO some credit and pay them a tribute... whatever you want?....................................
Why did you change the key?

The song is in A not D
Yep, wrong key 😢
This song is in the key of E,not G
Did I hear I wanna d you in the a?
your chords are all wrong. This song is played in E with a full E, Esus4, A major and F sharp minor. Very straightforward. Just play along and you will know your chords do not come close.
