I was at this taping. MTV set up the whole thing to make it look like these three fans were “randomly picked from the street audience outside.” Not true! MTV begged the first girl to do it- she was so young and shy, had no intention of singing in front of Mariah, let alone the entire world that day. She gets the most props for doing this!!! She was so cute and little. Also, Mariah gravitated towards her the most. During the voting, she was throwing her hands up to get people to clap for the first girl (so, fyi - she secretly did vote!)...The guy who sang knew everyone at MTV. He walked in very dramatically, air kissing everyone. They created this contest for him so he could win and meet Mariah on tv. He was trying to get famous at the time and grow his career in shobiz. He was told he can sing it in any octave he would like. I remember the first girl asked if she could sing it in a lower octave, MTV flat out told her: NO- you have to sing it like Mariah! The last girl, she was in college, she volunteered to do it happily. Don’t believe what you see on MTV. Everything is fake. Mariah was very sweet and stood up for the first girl after Carson made a stupid remark. People aren’t noticing or commenting on that??? How amazing Mariah handled herself there??? She is a true sweetheart, cares about others feelings. It’s genuine, too.
Imma give Mariah props, because she has an excellent poker face. These nonsinging folks just really cuttin into her song actin like they doin something and she's just like "laa da da ain't saying ish" hahahahaha. They know the wrong for that though.
I like the way she smiles when they dont hit the notes quite right 😂 but its also unfair to make them sing like a godess no one can sing Mariah like Mariah ❤
