I'm kinda shocked that school choice is controversial. Imagine if instead of forced bussing, every parent of every demographic had been allowed to choose which school they thought would be best for their child. Imagine if for all these decades, tax money wasn't bound by neighborhoods, but according to where parents sent their children. What would have happened? Over time the bad schools would either figure out some way to get better or all their students would end up at the good ones and they would close. Good schools would get better and larger as their reputations improved and everyone from every background sent their children there. Rather than paying taxes that funded pathetic excuses for schools and being totally unable to afford private schools, parents could send their children to a private school because the governmental funding followed their child and so the private schools might not even have to charge tuition to operate. It didn't happen all those years ago, but we can implement it today and it will start happening now. The reality is no one cares more about your child than you do, and no one will work as hard as you will to give your child the best opportunities possible. Why shouldn't every American parent be allowed to do that? Doesn't every American child deserve to go to the best school they can? Why should the government have the right to tell you who, where, and how your child will learn to think and see the world? Especially if you have ever hated any politician or group of them - that's just all the more reason to implement school choice.

I'm kinda shocked that school choice is controversial. Imagine if instead of forced bussing, every parent of every demographic had been allowed to choose which school they thought would be best for their child. Imagine if for all these decades, tax money wasn't bound by neighborhoods, but according to where parents sent their children. What would have happened? Over time the bad schools would either figure out some way to get better or all their students would end up at the good ones and they would close. Good schools would get better and larger as their reputations improved and everyone from every background sent their children there. Rather than paying taxes that funded pathetic excuses for schools and being totally unable to afford private schools, parents could send their children to a private school because the governmental funding followed their child and so the private schools might not even have to charge tuition to operate. It didn't happen all those years ago, but we can implement it today and it will start happening now.
The reality is no one cares more about your child than you do, and no one will work as hard as you will to give your child the best opportunities possible. Why shouldn't every American parent be allowed to do that? Doesn't every American child deserve to go to the best school they can? Why should the government have the right to tell you who, where, and how your child will learn to think and see the world? Especially if you have ever hated any politician or group of them - that's just all the more reason to implement school choice.

I like the fact that he calls people out if they attack him whether they are Democrats or Republicans because whether he is right or wrong, at least he stands by his convictions.

They had a chance to push police reform when the Furguson riots came about, but they kinda brushed that under the rug and forgot about it.
