Agnus and Keves almost certainly speak the same language IMO. Given that Alrest and the world of Xenoblade 1 are connected through Klaus, and the fact that Xenoblade 2 never even hinted at the idea of the nations that live on totally different continents speaking different languages or having to translate, I find it hard to believe Xenoblade 3 will be the one to start doing that. It would play into the theme of war being caused by misunderstanding/distrust, but not any more so than it would have in Xenoblade 2, and they didn't do it there.
There's also the fact that we hear Zanza speak in 2, and it's still the same language. I'm completely sure that if they didn't use the same language, the devs woulda found a way to garble it some way.
It was also a thing in X where all the characters from the different planets could communicate effortlessly. It was never explained why, just that it’s a thing that Mira does to people. Another possible X tie in?
If you take Turkins into account, there are different languages to some extent LOL. Well all jokes aside, I agree on this theory. It’s too much work for mono to invent different languages for different nations and unnecessary to cuz it can simply be explained by claiming all humanoid beings are creations of the Gate and evolving as Klaus has planned

at 28:28 you bring up the golden sun music theory, unfortunately this probably isn't true since in one of the clips you can see them fighting an elite monster while Eunie is being controlled by the player, so unless they started as an agnus character and swapped to her mid battle, this proves this is false. Also I think we've also seen them playing as Agnus characters while the main battle theme is playing, so if I HAD to take a guess Keves Battle is the track that will play while the player is in areas under their control, while agnus battle is reserved for areas under agnus control, and I'll also predict that the one jungle theme that plays in the Eunie Healer clip is for more neutral zones controlled by neither nation, since we don't really see anyone occupying maktha and its also stated that Juniper lives a more secluded lifestyle, implying that maktha (the only place she's been shown) in unpopulated, or at least are seen as a non-battleground, which would somewhat make sense given makna forest in XC1 was by far the most passive area in regards to wars and general conflict, and morytha in XC2 was just... abandoned.
WOAFJWIAEOFJPEPWOJIFAW LUXIN YOU GOTTA MAKE A 50 HOUR VIDEO ON TEH FUCKING DIRECT OMG YOU HAVE OTHER ORUBOROS COMBINATIONS AND HERO CLASSES AND OMG THAT TRAILER WAS SOOO AMAZING AND FOR A FINAL TRAILER IT DIDN'T SPOIL MUCH AT ALL I'M SO EXCITED!!!! ALSO WE GET A NEW LYRICAL SONG TO MAKE US CRY LIKE BEYOND THE SKY/ONE LAST YOU. :'( I WONDER WHAT THIS ONE IS CALLED.
I doubt it'll be eight hours. After all, a lot of what's shown in the Direct should be explained in the Direct; that's why it's a 20-minute Direct. I wouldn't be surprised if he does three to five hours of analysis on it, though.
I'm surprise you didn't talk about the probability that Juniper is a blade eater. She appears to have a core crystal fragment impeded one the back side of her left shoulder in her official artwork.
Luxin, I think the main reason they wanted to do a name change for this was to preserve the Gormotti being Welsh. Juniper has a lot of connections to the Welsh Geunivere and does make sense for a forest dwelling girl, since that name could also be seen as Ashen Fairy. It seems that 2's localization caught up to them in this case, unfortunately and they decided to be consistent that way instead of the other, probably more correct way. I also bet that they were just NOT going to try to get the actors to pronounce Yuzuriha in any serious context. Kind of a funny coincidence though, that the name Yuzuriha and Juniper could have such a connection, just because they thought to make the cat people have Welsh accents.
I agree. The localization team just wanted to keep the naming scheme consistent between 2 and 3. I am sure that Juniper will have a Welsh accent in the English dub. I think people are blowing the name change completely out of proportion. The localization team changed one name, ONE NAME, and suddenly people are loosing their minds, screaming about how they are taking to much Japan out of the Japanese RPG.
My impression of Juniper was along the lines that while she’s from Agnus, she’s lived in the forest for most of her life meaning she might have joined the military and let’s say stationed in her hometown or something, then left to live in the woods out of horror, and that’s why her name wouldn’t sound Japanese. At least that’s what I would guess, could just be something lost in translation.
When Noah deflects the attack & his sword disappears, perhaps he is sending it away so he can use both hands & both feet to stabilize himself & not losing his weapon due to the impact. Regarding combat music, perhaps if your are fighting an enemy associated with Keves will play Keves Battle & enemies associated with Agnus will play Agnus Battle
Juniper is a flower and is exactly with the theme of yuzuhira, which is also a flower, but (most) westerners don't know that yuzuhira is named after a flower...hence...why localization exists
I still think the eye thing is a sign of a U.M.N. in this game. It's how they are able to use weapons and summon them from thin air with the flame clock vision. And Ethel's red eye seems them as Fog meaning maybe she's in the collective unconscious which would be EXTREMELY cool but it's only speculation so let's leave it at that. Since we have a direct Wednesday i'm sure we will find out more about the world and i'm incredibly excited.
There have been a few things on my mind regarding theories/speculation, so I felt like writing them here. I'd be glad to hear any thoughts or counterpoints: I was watching the 2nd trailer again, and I noticed one thing: on the scene where Mr. WILD RIDE shoots his energy projectile at Sena, you can see for very few frames the EXACT same camp that shows up on the recent twitter clips where Mio, Sena, Eunie, Manana and Riku introduces themselves to the party. More importantly, on those scenes, everything is calm and dark, and on the Mr. WILD RIDE scene, it's on fire. This makes me almost 100% sure that Mr. Wild Ride shows up after the party is already "friends". So, rather than the party joining together to fight a dangerous monster, it's actually the monster interrupting any sort of friendship between the 2 nations, possibly to prevent anyone from becoming Ouroboros, which is slightly different than some expeculations I've seen. But I could be wrong... The second thing I'd like to talk about, and as far as I know, Luxin didn't notice this, but it's on that scene on the 2nd trailer where Noah takes out a small, thin white sword out of his red sword, and the red parts become a red gauntlet on his left hand: On that scene, before his sword becomes the gauntlet, the flame clock has a completely different design than anything we have seen before. It's not ouroboros shaped, it's not half-full like on the 1st trailer, before the 2 parties have joined. It looks like if the clock is "empty". Granted, this could mean nothing and it's just part of the animation where Noah acess his red gauntlet thingy, but still, it's very interesting that a character's clock can stop displaying the Ouroboros' sign, or any sign at all, at any point in time, even if just for a second. The third one is a bit random and most likely to mean nothing: I saw this guy on twitter point this out: twitter.com/wadoukai_hou/status/1537457836321411073 Apparently, Mr. WILD RIDE has a hole around his pulse, where you can kinda see a light that resembles the ones from Keves' weapons. Honestly, it kinda looks like it could just be part of the details of his design to me... and speculation around Mr. Wild Ride already pointed to it being connected in some shape or form to both nations and the ouroboors/flame clock, so I'm not even sure what this could bring to the table TBH. Still, it's some food for thought. Thanks to anybody who reads this pointless wall of text.
The reason for most of the XC2 localization name changes (and Yuzuriha and XC3) is almost certainly the simple fact that most of the voice actors would have trouble pronouncing the original names well. If anything, Yuzuriha->Juniper is less of an issue because (as you mention) it's a localization that captures the same idea, while the localization for a lot of XC2 Blades lost out on a lot of references to famous mythological figures that would be extremely obvious to the Japanese audience. But at the end of the day, changing the names was preferable to trying to teach a bunch of voice actors to pronounce things like "Kagutsuchi" or "Seiryuu" correctly (or even Homura/Hikari; the Japanese "r"-ish sound is hard to pronounce correctly). The one part of the XC2 localization that is a little strange in hindsight is that most common Blades still have Japanese names, which would have been consistent with the rare ones usually also having Japanese names, but is less so with the localized ones.
11:25 - If I had to guess, the weapons likely disappear the moment the user "lets go" of them. So Zeon most likely just hit Noah hard enough to knock it out from his hands. I know it's not much, but I think that's a fair difference to forcing Noah to "desummon" his weapon which would probably imply that the weapon is disabled in some way but I don't think that's the exact case, rather Noah probably has to focus again to "pick it back up". Just a guess though. Wouldn't surprise me if there was enemies that disabled your weapons though since that was a thing in 2. 19:50 - To be fair, we already have Addam who's Tornan, and yes it's spelt with 2 Ds, but that's typically a very English name too, so I wouldn't say Juniper is a problem for a name if Addam is already a thing at this point.
Regarding the guest heroes, I'm wondering if something similar happened with the in-game portraits for Persona 2. Kazuma Kaneko did the designs, but the portraits were drawn by Soejima and colored by Masayuki Doi (that's also part of why they look different from the portraits in Persona 3-5). Alternately Saito also went as far as drawing the rough sketch outlines for the characters but someone else filled in the lineart/coloring parts.
So there's Noah Noah, catgirl Noah, girl Noah with wings on her head, fabulous Noah, big and tall Noah, and Bridget`s daughter Noah. Which Noah is your favorite?
SPOILERS FOR X1 and X2 (and somthing cool) ~5:18 Actualy even thought they are from different universes, it is shown that The Architect created the X2 Sentient species, and Klaus/Mayneth created the X1 sentient species, making it VERY LIKELY that everyone speaks the same language even across universes, kinda like how anywhere in X2, despite being on different Titans/"continents" all speak the same language. Its somthing cool that makes sense in the lore and explains why this works
The eye thing being a universal translator lends to the idea that the world will become Mira, the same process being what causes everyone on Mira to understand each other
I thought it was obvious that the clock devices in their eyes is shared between soldiers. The interesting thing this implies is that since we only saw soldiers with clocks fuse into Ouroborus (aka the main party), it is entirely possible that whoever invented the clock system might've wanted this to happen or did not expect this to happen and trying to get rid of this mistake. So either we have an character who might find interest in the party or someone who wants to get rid of us at all cost. So far Melia and Nia have been the most suspicious ones, because of their lines in the trailers. Melia especially since her solo line in the 2nd trailer, though I do wonder why Nia remained silent.
personally i kinda think that the "fusing" was the endgoal of whoever originaly created the Flame Clock system(how i call it) but someone later usurped it for their own purpose... it WOULD be pretty "standard" story fair at least
Using my expert art detecting skills i can say that Cammuravi is definitively drawn by Saito, it seems like he handles the more important characters + Saito style has different shading compared to the mystery artist who uses softer shading while Saito has sharper shading (especially shadows) going, hope my explaination made sense
I can see the controlling the heroes as a New Game+ gimmick, like how XC2 let’s you equip any blade you want. Though I wonder if the heroes being unplayable might mean they are only temporary in the party for a limited gameplay time.
Hey Luxin, I'm about to beat 3 tomorrow and I miss you 😭 I hope you're enjoying the game as much as I have been, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on all of it!
tbf to agnus, whilst theyve been more japanese looking, it seems that name wise theyre trying to be more european to go with all the greek symbolism in xc2. juniper is latin, isurd is european sounding imo and all the colonies are greek letters. thats what i think at least
I do want to point out that both of the worlds had a god or godlike being that spoke the same language, so them having the same language makes a decent amount of sense.
imagine there's far more (like a lot - like Chrono Cross lot) "heroes" than what's been shown so far (Riku & "Banana", "Yuzu-niper", Zion, "Ru/Val-di", but also: Ethel, "Hammurabi", "Isurd-rugi", "purple hair mcgee bannerwoman", Nia?, Melia?, Vandham - IF he doesn't croak early as they do... that's like all the known characters besides the "six noahs" and Nimue... Everyone's a hero! You are a hero! I am a hero! lol) [also DLC potential, but I hate that, tho'] maybe you get "Keves battle" when you battle keves units and/or in Keves-controlled areas/near a Keves colony? vice versa for Agnus you say Rex's thigh gap, I say Spongebob's >:D
You ever played final fantasy 2? In that game you kept getting different 4th party members, and all but the very last one either died or left. since they aren't playable, I'm starting to suspect that a good chunk of the hero characters are not long for this world.
So Junipers class is Phantom Archer, I think thats a really cool Decidueye esk thing but it’s strange that they spelled “greataxe” wrong in both language versions of the post I choose to die on this hill with no shame whatsoever
Oh and going off the whole Decidueye comparison a talent art like Spirit Shackle which locks the enemy in place would be neat as well as potentially functional for a DPS who could use that to land positionals easier
I've never liked Time to Fight either honestly. It's a bit better and more intense in Definitive Edition, but the opening motif is really droning after so many hours of playing that game. I wish Mechanical Rhythm was used more.
@@tried.4thdslip I see. For me its the exact opposite experience. I always find it awesome and epic like we are doing something that matters and we can die from it at any moment if we arent careful.
i know im probably going to be that one guy in the comments and im sorry for that, but here is a reminder to put the blog post in the description for the music
What if the Ouroborouses can be only be created when an Angus and Kelves soldier muses, as it allows them to have the left and right eye abilities? And maybe that’s why they are hated because it encourages both factions to work together, which isn’t wanted.
The interesting they call that theme keves battle considering it's piano ostinato is nearly directly copied from tornas battle theme. I would definitely expect that one to be called Agnes battle theme so I'm excited to see what it actually is
5:15~5:32 You're forgetting that *both* universes were created by *the same person* to an extent (Klaus created Alrest while Zanza, who is half of Klaus, created Bionis and Mechonis). So why wouldn't they speak the same language?
I don't think the fact that a bunch of main characters have their tatoos in locations not covered by clothes means everyone does. Let's be realistic - the main reason they're easily visible is for ease of storytelling, so that when people are dramatically comparing tattoos to see how much time they have left we don't need to have Taion (or any other party member) take two separate jackets off mid emotional cutscene, he can just hold his palm up. We know Ethel's time is running out, which will presumably inform her actions and so her tattoo needs to be visible too. Side characters like Zeon presumably aren't involved in those types of story cutscenes and thus don't need to be designed with easily-accesible tattoos, and presumably there's at least a few main story characters like Isurd or Camuravi for whom the tattoos being visible isn't important either - we can just assume they have them because they wield Blades. Doesn't mean they WON'T have them visible, but does mean they don't HAVE to have them visible.
forget the tattoos, what about the core crystals?! O_O [I'm getting a serious Final Fantasy XIII vibes... might be a similar story, but done better, I hope]

There have been a few things on my mind regarding theories/speculation, so I felt like writing them here. I'd be glad to hear any thoughts or counterpoints:

The third one is a bit random and most likely to mean nothing: I saw this guy on twitter point this out:
twitter.com/wadoukai_hou/status/1537457836321411073
Apparently, Mr. Still, it's some food for thought.

it should be in the core game, no DLC needed, really (and if it's a DLC, it better be a free one)
"Direct when Nintendo?"
Xenoblade 3 direct happening tomorrow: Am I a joke to you?
A new Xenoblade direct has been schedulex for June 22nd a.k.a. tomorrow
What if the eye makes soldiers see the other nation as those shadows
That Xenoblade X music is so nostalgic
20:49 also leads to Eunie Noises
Hey Luxin, I'm about to beat 3 tomorrow and I miss you 😭 I hope you're enjoying the game as much as I have been, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on all of it!
YAY LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR!!!
tbf to agnus, whilst theyve been more japanese looking, it seems that name wise theyre trying to be more european to go with all the greek symbolism in xc2. juniper is latin, isurd is european sounding imo and all the colonies are greek letters. thats what i think at least
I do want to point out that both of the worlds had a god or godlike being that spoke the same language, so them having the same language makes a decent amount of sense.
If it does turn out to be a golden sun situation that would be sick!!
Under half an hour. Impressive.
I'm shook that you don't like "Time to Fight". I really loved that battle theme. But I guess it's subjective :D
imagine there's far more (like a lot - like Chrono Cross lot) "heroes" than what's been shown so far (Riku & "Banana", "Yuzu-niper", Zion, "Ru/Val-di", but also: Ethel, "Hammurabi", "Isurd-rugi", "purple hair mcgee bannerwoman", Nia?, Melia?, Vandham - IF he doesn't croak early as they do... that's like all the known characters besides the "six noahs" and Nimue... Everyone's a hero! You are a hero! I am a hero! lol) [also DLC potential, but I hate that, tho']
maybe you get "Keves battle" when you battle keves units and/or in Keves-controlled areas/near a Keves colony? vice versa for Agnus
you say Rex's thigh gap, I say Spongebob's >:D
DLC Heroes confirmed, apparently.
Intro aged well
Oh Taion had a dojutsu put inside him
Direct when Nintendo?
is Wed apparently lol, so thanks for asking them
Juniper more like junipurr

You ever played final fantasy 2? In that game you kept getting different 4th party members, and all but the very last one either died or left. since they aren't playable, I'm starting to suspect that a good chunk of the hero characters are not long for this world.
same in Final Fantasy XII (12)
So Junipers class is Phantom Archer, I think thats a really cool Decidueye esk thing but it’s strange that they spelled “greataxe” wrong in both language versions of the post
I choose to die on this hill with no shame whatsoever
Also Luxin mentions the Akhos blue balls!
Oh and going off the whole Decidueye comparison a talent art like Spirit Shackle which locks the enemy in place would be neat as well as potentially functional for a DPS who could use that to land positionals easier
Huh, if the ui is dietetic, it would explain the minor fish-eye effect on the arts menu
WOT U DONT LIKE TIME TO FIGHT OST? Holy crap I want that to be in XBC3 if possible lol since its so dramatic, I love it. The violins are eargasm.
They annonced a Xenoblade Nintendo direct june 22.
New record!!
21:47 Mythra's sacred arrow???
So now the high entia can RGB their wings, are we all mims or what (excluding the nopons of course)
I'm getting a repurposed nanites from XC2 vibe from the AR hud
Taion is so talented
We will have to find out if he is chaos level talented
Riku (builds weapons), Manana (cooks food), and Valdi (builds and repairs frickin' faced mechons!) are more talented, Taion is just a tactician >.>
I have a hunch that everyone besides the Nopon, Nia and Melia are the same race.
Specifically artificial lifeforms.
mims?
This is after the direct now. Did I call it?
Juniper is hot. That is all.
i know im probably going to be that one guy in the comments and im sorry for that, but here is a reminder to put the blog post in the description for the music
just go to nintendo.co.jp >>> xenoblade 3 >>> scroll down >>> pick the 5th blog >>> scroll down again...
I made a video less than 30 minutes long. They say with a 29:32 time code. Cutting it close
I love in universe UIs a la Dead Space.
Just barely underneath 30
Under 30 minutes goddamn
bro really said sub 30 but it’s only 27 seconds less lmao
Clearly you don't speedrun. Those 27 seconds are a massive achievement long thought impossible to save, and only with new techniques of having incredible info rng to greatly reduce the amount of time loss can it be done. A truly marvelous run this week from Luxin, the foremost of xc3 news analysis speedrunners.
@@goggles8691 _speedrunning is overrated_
Bro chill .
is it just me or does the white mobile colonies look alot like Papi Buster from xenoblade 2
If the analysis videos are already this long, how long will the game review be? 4 hours?
So about that direct...
You clearly made this before the announcement didn't ya
Ok good, the worst didn't happen.
14:09 isn’t Saito a woman?
Isurgui to Isurd was so weird, I'm disappointed to see them continuing it with Yuzuriha. So weird.
It's bizarre, but consistent with the mostly removed Japanese names in Xenoblade 2. So I'm not surprised at least.
Sloughslogothen
Direct when? Hehehehe
Direct in 2 days
Yep, more XC3 stuff, more blind comments so I can go in blind yet help Luxin
Taion: “I am now Sans Undertale look into my eye”
