Seriously a joke that Apple doesn’t have this most basic of features that has been standard on Android devices FOREVER it seems…. I thought my phone was malfunctioning- no way a 15 Pro Max couldn’t switch between the front and rear cameras while recording I thought…. Since my child’s $30 Samsung A whatever model can do this no problem…. Just another reason I feel completely duped by Apple…

Using 14 pro max. I am so dumbed that I am full into apple eco system. Planning to switch to android and windows.
The first iPhone I purchased was a 3GS in 2009, but started using Androids for my personal devices in 2013. I have used either Galaxy Notes or Pixels ever since, but have maintained using iPhones for my work devices. I’ve been able to enjoy the best from both ecosystems.
However I finally switched my personal device back to an iPhone 14 Pro Max last year when they came out for a change of pace. Apple’s camera app can’t switch between cameras while recording video, nor can it pause while recording a video… Every time you stop recording, the video is complete- you have to start recording an entirely new video file; that’s unacceptable in 2023 for ANY FLAGSHIP device from any manufacturer. I’m leaning towards switching back to a Galaxy S23 Ultra- or waiting for its successor in 2024…. I wanted the iPhone to be a phone I could love- but the silly limitations make no sense to me, and so I’m out again until they knock that off.. Could be a while I guess….

Yes you have to install the timestamp camera but the first notification you get is to pay for the premium service as the free edition is for about 3 days I believe

The quality of camera iphone and app have a huge difference. Maybe someday apple will consider this feature in the future.

Go to settings, Android app can open the attachment settings for that we will open the camera

This already doesn’t work. I just downloaded it and when you switch cameras, it stops and wants to save what you’ve done without switching. Also, there no longer and option to change the opacity if the text box, so even though you get rid of the timestamp, there is a gray box. Disappointing.

Switched from Samsung to iPhones latest model and it’s no comparison to S24. No standard camera switching, awful screenshot options, horrid basic sound/vibrate settings. The hype is just that - hype

It’s absurdly ridiculous that iPhone still doesn’t have this feature, this is something I remember having on my 13 years old Galaxy S2, plus having the option to pause the video recording instead of just stopping it🤦🏻♂️
