This works! Didn't work when I tried it started with an Ubuntu 22.04 LXC, but it works when I started with an Ubuntu 20.04 LXC. Now I am using/sharing my single RTX A2000 6 GB between different LXCs. (And audio works great! Using the Windows Remote Desktop Connection to open a RDP connect to the Ubuntu LXC. I don't get the audio crackling issue that is observed here.) This is awesome! Thank you for this video!
With version 8.2 or later you don't need to edit the conf file with this complex passthrough lines. Unser resources you have an option passthrough. It is important to Set a user or group id which is existent in the lxc container.
hmm, this could be interesting. I wonder if I could set up an arch build or steamOS to use as a remote play host on any of my other machines across the network.
This is working for me on a Proxmox node with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics CPU on board. I use a windows laptop and used MremoteNG, MobaXterm and the Microsoft MSTSC tools to access the Ubuntu server. MSTSC has the worst audio the other two work greath.
It is very weird where it worked on my Proxmox server where it has a single RTX A2000 6 GB GPU, but on my Proxmox test system (6700K, with two RTX 3090s), it doesn't work with my test system. Not really sure why this is the case.
Hi, i just uploaded and updated the guide with Debian 12, i even went far to run Windows Applications with wine, th-cam.com/video/aZLAzZY7eWQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi there, i haven't really heard about sunshine, so far i have tried Kasm Workspace and X2GO, i was able to get a DE but the problem is with the graphics driver, i was not able to get it to work properly that's why i sticked with XRDP.
What does not work for 22.04 or 24.04? Oh perhaps you can make it an ansible script, so you only need to run the ansible script and it'll deploy it for you.
It can work, but the only problem is audio, specifically pulseaudio, i've tried manually building it and have managed to complete the xrdp script, but it just gave new problems, it's a really complex problem. If you're going to do it with Ubuntu 22 or 24, i suggest installing XCFE as your DE and not using -s on the script, but no sound. I'll look into trying an ansible script, thank you!
So has anyone tried this with Kubuntu 24.10 and Plasma 6? It would be even more efficient using a full VM with passthrough, but I've never had any luck with iGPU passthrough in general (such a pity) as I would prefer to run CachyOS as my daily driver and take advantage of regular backups to Proxmox Backup Server.

You have to wonder if moonlight game streaming client/server would not be a better fit ?

Thank you.
I'll give that a shot either tonight or possibly tomorrow.
I appreciate your videos!
Ok. That's great. Few questions remain ) First, why U20 and not U22? Next, RDP is meh. Why not Sunshine?
PS About U22 you said why at 9:45. Thanks

Gaming possible?
Hello, yes it's possible to run games, I covered running windows applications in my latest video. th-cam.com/video/aZLAzZY7eWQ/w-d-xo.html
