I love the “little things” that’s why they are my top TVD ship. People are not used to “subtle romance” but I love slowburn so subtle romance is what I know and that’s why steroline is perfect.

I've been watching TVD again and thinking about it Caroline and Stefan are perfect for each other. He can't control himself around blood without help, and Caroline is the queen of self-control. She's been there for him when he t Elena in the end was just a selfish manipulative b* who only used Stefan and only liked him for his attention, and that's why she's perfect for Damon.
Stefan and Caroline really balanced each other out! Their similarities and differences complement each other. I don’t necessarily hate Elena and am big on Delena but I see why they match.

It doesn’t mean anything that they will start a relationship. Let’s say you have seen the episode in 2009/10. How could you know that they will marry? Paul Wesley has said once “the anchor of Vampire diaries is the relationship Stefan & Elena”. “I didn’t see it coming to marry Caroline Forbes“
Steroline happened only because Nina has left the cast. Even if she has left, stelena is well hidden behind the certains. Stefan’s love is a pale shadow of what he felt for Elena.

The thing with the ships is that Julie and co. say one thing with the dialogue and the other with the narrative so all you really have to do is pay attention and look at things outside of any given moment.
A FEW examples:
- He only called Elena the love of this life. He NEVER called caroline so.
- both have a terrible chemistry. In several scenes it’s shown that Caroline is showing more feelings towards Stefan and Stefan less (passive)
Klaus: S3 that kind of love never dies. S4 All I see is STEFAN and ELENA
Rebbekah and Katherine knew that he would never love them like Elena.
Caroline unfortunately thought that she could get exactly the same love from him (really stupid).
C + S are miscommunicating.
S8: wedding day:
S: you saw light in me when all I saw was darkness. You saved me from despair. Really Caroline saw light in him 🤦🏽♀️
-> this dialogue is NOT earned.
Let’s go back to season 6: she pulled him into darkness, forced him to turn his humanity off and in S8 when he lost his humanity again, she left him in the darkness
S8:
Bonnie: go pull yourself and find your hope. Stefan is writing in his journal to ELENA.
Highlight of the last episode of S8:
Yeah it’s kind how Stefan whispers Elena that he heard Caroline and he loves her forever too. The producers of the show can let Stefan saying “I love you” to Caroline it doesn’t change the fact that ELENA is the last person before he finds his peace. The gestures and his body language towards Elena speak volumes. The way how he is stroking her face and how he is whispering intimately in her ears. Why couldn’t he pick up his phone to tell Caroline this himself.

look i don't usually do this so
you made a good argument and it would have worked if the characters hadn't changed over the series. it would have worked if stefan had remained the same deadinside as in the first seasons, that trauma-over-katherine boy (so traumatized that he dragged Elena into the whole dangerous vampire thing just because she looks like his dead ex).
but fortunately his character has evolved(you gotta try this) from a boy to a man and he was able to find his significant other and built great relationships. not a teenage drama of falling in love, but grown-up love, trust. union of feelings, ideas, emotions. partnership and unity. their love is calm, very deep and constant
so yeah, I'll hold to my weak endgame.
and you know what the main reason is?

so if you want to hold on to a fictional "endgame" go ahead

Letting go at the last possible moment was several times in S1, S2, 6.22 and 8.16

it annoys me to see the Caroline/Stefan couple because they weren't meant for each other. The writers have done anything with the plots and the relationships between the characters, especially that of Stefan and Elena. The love stories went all over the place and it ended in anything. I hate how the vampire diaries turned out because I wanted a happy ending for Stefan and Elena. Even the director had planned to reunite Stefan and Elena as they were the anchor of the series and kindred spirits but the departure of Nina Dobrev changed everything much to the chagrin of many.
@nudhar1993 no it wasn't writer story nor lj Smith story she wrote in one of article this story was channeled by spirit guides nobody knows what will be ending of this story so whatever had happened it meant to happen nina Dobrev left probably God's work delena endgame Stefan sacrifice and died to finally getting peace that's how God write the story true love do sacrifices here talking about Stefan and Damon😊

They had no chemistry though. She had chemistry with Enzo, should've made her end up with him since she didn't end up with Klaus.
They had the best chemistry. She had chemistry with Enzo and Klaus, but she had more chemistry with Stefan(in romantic way and platonic way). Season 5&6 steroline's chemistry was on S02 Stelena&S03 delena level.
Also honestly Tylor was a better match for Caroline than Klaus, bcz atleast Tylor loved sincerely and didn't left her after he got a "confession" from woods and never tried to kill her or made her beg for her life. Basically, if she wasn't gonna end up with Stefan, Tylor was the better match for her than everyone else including Klaus and Enzo.

I know… The way Stefan was looking at Elena - he never looked at Caroline like that. It was more like a friendly look at her. Also, the start of this relationship was horrible, Caroline literally used Damon’s death to get Stefan and she actually was MAD at Stefan even he was already going through one of the hardest part of his life of losing a brother… 🙄
