Thanks for the demo. I'm looking to do the same thing for my chickens. Looks perfect for my needs.

I know this is an older video, but my mare is getting to this stage. Just ran to TSC today to by chopped timothy. Dumb question - How do you measure out a feeding? I mean before it was 2 flakes and done. Is chopped hay done by weight now or some other measurement? Going to invest in that same mulcher. Thanks much.

I have the same machine and the string breaks fast. I am concerned about them eating the plastic string. Wondered what you do?

That’s my concern too.. have you found a safer way to do this?

What Worx model is this please? And did you enlarge the holes at the bottom of the bin so that the hay drops thru easier? My Worx WG430 turns my grass hay in to dust that is too fine to feed to my geriatric horse and donkey... Thank you very much!

We use this method too, but the dust is so awful. Wondering if you've done anything to cut down on the dust.

We bought this chopper and the motor went out in 3 months and we went thru strings like crazy. Chopped 2nd cutting alfalfa. Still looking for a more sustainable solution...

You would be better off getting a more commercial based wood chipper shredder. Much like an Amerind Mackissac Mighty Mac 12 pt. I own an older 1975 model and that thing will shred everything from 3 inch limbs to milling down grass clippings throw out the compost stage to fine soil. Will work great on loads of long hay and can Crack and dry it out quickly despite how thick it may get.

Have you ever thought about as the string wares down you’re feed it to the horses

What size of garbage can did you buy? Can't find one that fits that well.

We put a big garbage bag on the stand, and then set the chopper on that.

Does this work for horses without teeth?

Can you add the chopped hay to hay nets?

Why the aluminium trash cans to store the hay and not plastic?

I bought one of these and it sucked. It is gravity fed and you can only put a small amount of hay in at a time. You must use something to keep pushing it down. The strings use up quickly. Don't waste your money on this.

It sounds like my wood chipper would work better, steel blades
