This Hordak looks absolutely stellar. The best in the most recent waves in my opinion. Nice observation that the Masterverse Hordak's color matches beautifully. Though I can't help but believe we will receive some Cartoon collection accessory paks in the future to give us more Hordak display options... wishful thinking? 😂 🙏 Pretty please, Mattel.
@toyboxnostalgia I bet he does. Still waiting on mine from Big Bad. I'm double downing on the accessories pack because I just realized we need Imp. I do have an extra Classics Imp to give him, but we def need Imp for collectors who don't have Ckassics
I completely agree with you regarding this Hordak version which is, in my opinion, one of the best versions ever published. Two regrets however: the absence of the Imp and the arm/cannon. This choice is incomprehensible to me, but despite that this CC Hordak is superb. I particularly appreciate the mobility of the head, which allows the figurine to be given certain attitudes specific to the character. The face is also very very successful, undoubtedly one of the best in this MOTU range, in my opinion in the top 3 of the collection with those of the fabulous Teela (still number 1😁) and Man-at-arms... This Hordak is so expressive that you can almost hear him giggling. As for the colors, same observation as you: despite the absence of gray on certain parts of the body, the rest is impeccable, in particular this indigo blue used for the body, and as usual with this range Mattel seems to choose more flashy colors as for the Club Grayskull series. It’s an interesting choice, which ultimately gives a very colorful and lively range. Not always perfectly accurate, but very pleasant to look at. This range, which I loved from the start, continues to make me dream with the characters of the horde... And I don’t think we’ve finished saying “wow” with what’s announced 😁. I can already imagine your excitement when you have Shadow Weaver CC in hand 😂🤟. Personally, it's with The Sorceress that I'm going to go crazy 😁. Superb review, as usual on your channel, and thank you for the customization advice, it gives good ideas for finding that damn hot arm 🤟 Thanks mate :) zupimages.net/up/24/52/dzkk.jpg
That photo you linked to is inspiring. Geez, I wish I had even half of your talent, Lionel. I took hope that we are never done saying "wow!" Shadow Weaver has me torn a bit. On one side the drawing of the Shadow Weaver in the comic is almost way off and Altalya ? made such a great representation already, that I'm kinda nervous. On the other side, I have a lot of faith in Mattel and feel like they will do a great job. Just wondering if they will do soft goods verses plastic for her gown. Specifically on her arms. I will try to do more customization work in the future and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. Thank you, Lionel! 😊😊😊
@toyboxnostalgia It seems to me that this comic version of Shadow Weaver is more of an improvisation than anything else :). Personally, I am certain that Mattel will stay very close to the show version, and I think that the way in which they will create this character (in terms of the folds of the dress) will give us a good indication of the way in which a character like Marlena, which I'm almost certain will be edited 🤟
As you know. I'm a huge Hordak fan so will probably get this. Just because. Though I'm pretty happy with my custom Emperor Hordak. My introduction to Hordak (And Hordak's) was from the minicomics as a He-Man villain which he actually served as in the comics for a good amount. Catra was She-Ras foe until Filmation. MOTU is and should be a 5.5 line. Everything else, including Classics is mere homage. Yes he needs a cape and his cannon arm. This being Mattel we are sure to get a variant. I actually prefer the armor/overlays to be slightly rubbery, compared to hard and crispy. Think they are less likely to break. Bring on the Wraiths! It actually seems Mattel is wisely treating all as one Unified Universe. Be it Vintage Origins, Turtles of Grayskull, and PoP. At least the comics seem to do so.
Yes, yes, yes, and yes!! I agree with all of this and thank you. So far, in this Cartoon Collection line, Hordak is my favorite ... Until I get Shadow Weaver, of course 😍 the Wraiths would be super fun, but I need my Horde Troopers first! Also, so far, the rubbery armor has been fantastic. I would not have wanted the hard plastic either, I was merely pointing it out and tried to do so in a good way. The clasp only failed once so far and I have been posing the crap out of this little guy. So, all in all, I am quite happy with this and feel ashamed to not have gotten this video out sooner.
@toyboxnostalgia I tend to be. I guess some might call it nitpicky? Please don't take me to be argumentative. This medium is an imperfect form of communication. I have really specific images of what MOTU is in my head and sometimes forget others can't see the ongoing MOTU storyline in my brain. Though I try to give hints of it on Instagram.
I love his silly bomb
I've always understood that to called a bone collar, though people call it a hood, though it doesn't function like one.
Once again you did a great job.
Thank you, Bernhard!! 😊
Also amazing thumbnail shot
Thank you!! The photography segments are always my favorite to film 📸☺️

Absolutely my favorite Hordak of all time here. Just looks stellar on the shelf with the Cartoon Collection!!
