TY so much for this. Not only is it needed, I needed a distraction from the election trauma. I'm sure my family members who believe in "intelligent design" will never listen to me -not that I intend to see them ever again.
Oh my, this wasn't very surprising for me, but I didn't know we have Milton Friedman to thank for school vouchers in addition to the other problems he started / caused. Coincidentally, where is he buried and can I get about a gallon of water? Why? No reason.
In Oklahoma, Each voucher would be worth about $3,600 to $5,300. The average private school tuition in Oklahoma is $8,092 per year (2024-25). The private elementary school average tuition cost is $8,264 per year and the private high school average is $9,403 per year. That Ryan Walters is doing a very big favor for the UPPER CLASS, but not you. 🤔🤨💰💰💰💰💸💸💸💸
@@DadamWrites You have to understand they do not care about good educations for their children. They care only about religious indoctrination. They will never stop teaching intelligent design. They will always say the Earth is only 5000 years old. They believe that is required of them for maintaining their faith. When I was teaching and encouraging my high school English students to think critically and ask questions, I had a woman call the principal and say she wanted me to be fired for teaching her daughter to ask questions. My principal told her maybe she wanted to send her daughter to a Christian school. I loved that principal.
You can find information on failing charter schools, but it's difficult. At least it is for your typical christian superstitionist. I'll try to keep it as simple as possible for you. Step One: Google it. If that's too difficult, ask for help at a public library. Libraries are where hypocritical, scientifically ignorant christian superstitionists are trying to ban books.
As long as local property taxes of rich neighborhoods are providing for rich schools while poor neighborhood schools can only afford underpaid, stressed out teachers who too often grow complacent to lower their expectations for their students, charter schools will be a necessary fix.
Would humanist schools qualify for these vouchers? I bet you could streamline education and grow a community at the governments dime. Why let Christianity have all the money.
That would be great. However, with our current Supreme Court I feel like they would find a way to block it. Sorry for the negativity I'm sure you understand where it comes from.
To all who did the good fight, thanks. It felt as if I lost a major battle, sore and bruised. I have posted and liked hundreds of posts every day. Fox band me on all their affiliates. We lost the battle but not the war. Not even the fascist Trump can keep good and honest people down.
Religion pervades all aspects of life. Fortunately, one never has to stoop so low as to believe, but everyone pays the price for religions’ inherently criminal activities.
By the way, how far behind vouchers to take your kids out of public schools is it for people with out kids to demand back their school tax contributions to get karate lessons or yoga classes?

Private schools can exclude students with disabilities, as well.

Public education is the most important and unique feature of American society!
We need a list of the failing charter schools.
This - conservatives will count the hits and ignore the misses for private schools, while pointing out every failure of public schools.

@beskepticaled6223 so if pay teachers more they improve.? Does that go for politicians as well?

@ I hear you however the courts have ruled that humanism has religious rights and protections too in previous rulings.

More power to teacher's unions! More pay to teachers, less education to students

First
