    This is one of the first videos I watched of this guy and I some how knew he was a Christian. I appreciate the video on the grade control but I mostly appreciate him sharing Gods word. I thank Jesus for making a way for me to be saved and saving me. The only way our souls can be on grade is the Lord Jesus Christ, we can’t do it on our own. It takes the word of God and Holy Spirit conviction for us to know that our souls aren’t on grade for him and that we’re sinners and we need saving. Jesus said “ I am the way, truth, and the life and no man cometh unto the father but by me.” He that believeth on the son hath life. But he that believeth not on the son hath not life but the wrath of God abideth on him.

    I highly recommend using those stress relief attachments on the cables, dozer side. As you know, those cables are not cheap, and they will certainly extend the lifespan of the cables. Also, on the 10-10 and 10-6 coil cables, I usually wrap ours around the mast shock mount. Providing stress relief on the mast side of the cables as well.

    I am not a sponcer and this is just a suggestion, you might want a tower to mount your laser on. Liebrecht (they are in Continental, OH) makes a good one. Jokingly call it a portable deer stand. It is amazing how stable the base is, which equals a stable laser beam. I tried your way for a bit but not always easy to get the laser up in the air. Then bought a set of long legs. Sort of ok but not so good in the wind. Nice looking work. Blessings always!

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mark and appreciate the tip! I will check on the tower. The tripod tower priced with the system was $1200. Was hoping to find one at a better price.

    • @MarkBarrack
      @MarkBarrack ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tristardiggin I am in central Illinois and windy days are NOT rare. I tried several methods to steady the long legs against the wind, and achieved only fair results. The tower is an additional trip to the site and back home. Maybe you could load it on the trailer with the dozer? Look for used as there is very little to wear out on these towers. Or you can borrow mine.

    Looks like it works pretty good and makes it easier for the operator. You can do basically the same thing with a normal laser catcher like i have for a fraction of the cost, it just takes longer, have to go slower and pay close attention and make constant adjustments which is tiring for the operator. I can see where this would really shine on a big area though for sure. Parking lots, warehouse, poultry house, etc... Would just depend on how many bigger jobs you did if it was worth it in my opinion. @groundtoglory Right! It is a very cool system. I also have it on the 304 too which is great for the small jobs.

    What was the final bill for Trimble Earthworks? Thank you.

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the dozer it was 32k. The system for the 304 was around 20k. The 313 already had 2D grade control on it when I bought it…
      Thanks,
      Sam

      One of my machine is a John Deere 26G and I’m a drainage contractor what do you think the cost for that would be and would you recommend it? Great videos.

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jefffitzpatrick388 Hey Jeff I would guess the system would be some where around mid 20s nowadays. I got the system for the CAT 304 prior to COVID so I’m sure they have gone up a bit. Being a drainage contractor and digging on a specific grade/slope every day you would love it. I recorded a video yesterday, will be on the channel in the near future, where we used Trimble the whole time. In my opinion it’s worth every penny, I certainly wouldn’t go without one after using it. You can reach out to the Sitech dealer that covers your area and they can get you a quote. Over the life of the system it is relatively inexpensive for what it will do for you. I do have several videos using grade control on the 304, 313 and the D5.
      Thanks,
      Sam

    Amen, another great gospel message. Sometimes God's GPS will take us down road ,we weren't planning to go down. But if that's the case, He has a good reason for it. That grading system on your Dozer looks like it would be pretty handy. Like you said, great for a guy who works by himself. God bless you, Sam.

      Thanks Bill. And you are right, His GPS can take us down an unexpected road but He has a purpose for it. The grade control makes my life a little better...😁

    Man we have a new 313, don't you find it sloppy, like, there is a lot of sway, in the housing..pick the bucket up, get out and push the bucket and look how much play it has side to side, I can't tell yours does the same

    • @tristardiggin

    how come you didn't use your excavator that had the Cat 2D system already on it to grade that out? Is it just it would take too long with the bucket vs. a dozer?

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, the dozer is more efficient and precise cutting the final grade.
      Thanks,
      Sam

    • @hu5tle-
      @hu5tle- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tristardiggin But if someone couldn't afford both, I could potentially just use the excavator, which is a more versatile machine.

      Right on brother how much an hr are you getting around area for your machines over here it be like 140hr for the dozer and about 150 hr for your 313

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Danny. Generally I charge $1600 per day for an 8 hour day for these machines. For the skid steer and mini x it really depends on the type of work. Varies between $1200 to $1500. Some of the smaller jobs I do a set price though.
      Appreciate you supporting the channel.

      Tom I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel. The state inspectors don’t allow us to disturb more than 4” of soil in the area where the septic lines go. The say they don’t want the surrounding ground disturbed. 😳

    You should be utilising the laser and laser catcher on the machine rather than just using it to put a benchmark in, its quick to use once its set up on the machine, swing around and pick up the laser, then accept it and the depths set straight away until you move again, and you need to invest in a quick hitch, preferably a tilt hitch and a wide bucket, its bloody painful watching yanks dig with rock buckets, its a bit like watching paint dry.

      I agree. If he had a D10 . . . Equipment size all depends on the project. You can stretch a small machine to do a larger project, sometimes. Reverse isn't always easy. I almost never take our bulldozer into town, as a skid steer gets in and out of tight areas much easier. Usually about a one acre site is the break point.
