Just wanted to say that it is so refreshing to me that you never really talk bad about women or use degrading language (expect a few comments on their looks oc). A lot of creators were bashing Candy before they found out she was acting and I know she might be a lot, but even if she was not acting I think a lot of reactors focus on harmless people and ignore red flags about people that actually do harm others. Well the thing is Lucifer doesn't know what his dad's goal is. Is there a grand plan regarding Chloe, did he want Lucifer and Chloe to be a thing? To manipulate him? Get him on your side? Is it a gift? Are her feelings real? If God is all-knowing then surely he knew his mom would escape hell, why isn't he doing anything about her? Why did he let Uriel go there and die at Lucifer's hands? Granted if he is all-knowing then he'd know Lucifer would go and be with Candy and that too was part of the plan, assuming there's a plan. It must be frustrating not ever feeling like you're in control of your life.
I think Lucifer married Candy to try and break Chloe's emotional attachment in a misguided attempt to give her a choice/free will, as he saw it. if chloe was left in lucifer's path as a miracle FOR him. where is her agency? where is her choice? is any attraction real? he cares for chloe so much he is willing to hurt both her and himself to ensure her free will.
