- This was probably THE highlight of our European Tour! A small Eolian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea offers one of the most impressive nature spectacles ever. We hiked to the top of the Stromboli Volcano and experienced the eruption of the magma, live with the sun setting in the horizon.

We went hiking up it the day before it erupted. We were on a boat going away from the island at the time and heard a massive 'BOOM'. When we got the news it was so scary to think about what could've happened the day before whilst there.
Wow, that must have been a very intense experience. Especially if you hiked to the top just the day before. We hope everyone managed to stay safe on the island.

Yes, it is indeed an amazing place. Hahaha... it is often so that when you live in a country, you don't get to see all the stuff tourists get to see. But Italy is a surprising and beautiful country that deserves to be visited.
great! have been there in the late 80s, climbing in the evening; during the night close to the eruptions en in the morning glow back. stayed a week in La Sciara, great memories.

amazing video...i could never hike up there..i don't do heights lol...i have hiked up to the restaurant where there is the observation deck...there is a nice enough view there, but your view was amazing...to look inside was spectacular. thanks for taking me there

Thank you very much! We haven't been to Etna but hopefully one day we can climb that. There was very bad weather in Sicily water our visit to Stromboli and we couldn't even see Etna from Catania, so we need to come back one day for that one. But yes, Stromboli is worth the visit.

Es war wirklich sehr beeindruckend diese Exkursion. Die Tour wurde mit einem Zertifizierten Bergführer durchgeführt. Wir haben uns zu jeder Zeit sicher und wohl gefühlt. Es gab immer klare Verhaltensanweisungen. LG

I just hope we aren't too far from the eruption and we have a great view. My dream is to see an eruption and in the better case, be closer to the magma river (but I'm sure we can't do it for safety reasons).

Thank you for watching. Sorry, we forgot to add the link, it is now added. We used Magmatrek, their website is magmatrek.it. They usually get you as close as you safely can. It is very impressive and when it is not windy and cloudy, it is the best. We didn't ask for drones and I would imagine they do not allow it. We did not see any in action. Safe travels, always.

Yes, indeed, and there were not many tourists anymore so it makes things work faster too. You could easily book an excursion in the morning for the same afternoon. At the moment I understand that they do not let tourists all the way to the top, but hopefully soon again. Thank you fore watching and safe travels, always!
