    thank you so much @ACTennis for this review; the Percept 100D and the VCore 98 will be my final test before I opt for my new frame. So far, the one I liked the most is the Head Gravity Tour. I sold it to upgrade after hearing all the positive feedback from it but I immediately felt arm and elbow pain in the first few hours with the exact same setup. didn’t like the feel on impact as much and the racquet didn’t feel as whippet even when I customized it the same way so I will be staying with the older version. Incredibly thorough review! Best analysis of this racket by a mile. Actually made the switch to this frame recently, just added leather and lead so around 338, 7 points HL. Been waiting a decade or so to find something modern that fits a slightly flatter ball curve with control and pop (without the 370g weight and unforgiving nature of my old Pro Staff 90’s),..but at the same time not typically 18/20 dense. Gravity Pro was very close!
    I almost just settled for a Blade before I found this.
    Tried a stiff thin gauge poly too 48/46, but you’re right…it got a bit wild after a couple of hours.
    About to go down the stringing rabbit hole and dial her in. Maybe a slightly subtle shaped poly on the mains…Toroline hybrid might be a good starting ground!

    Great Review. The detailed nuances were shared in a manner that is helpful.
    I have played with last 3 versions of Vcore98 and enjoy them but looking for more control and ability to flatten out shots. I currently need to hit every shot with spin and big targets.
    Ezone98 demo gave me added precision and flattening ability…but arm discomfort.
    Percept 100 felt good on everything except OHBH.
    Percept 100D felt more solid (extra 5g) but tougher to generate spin when needed.
    Percept 97 felt a little demanding but best on OHBH and serve. When i hit in front and had proper footwork it was exceptional. When i was defensive or late it still got the balk in play but short. Since I play mostly aggressive 4.0 doubles this is an acceptable trade off.

      Great racquet but different weight class, it's stable, but for me personally, i need more racquet speed, lighter and faster racquet - if you have a less whippy stroke, then it would work better to drive through the ball , and together with free stability, you dont have to worry about timing the ball perfectly as much

      Dampening tech is what removes the high pitch ping, the more dampening tech they use in the frame, then the less requirement for a dampener - my GF has only been playing without a dampener and even she preferred it with a dampener - i felt the same here, opposite for the Vcore 98

    • @ACTennis
      @ACTennis  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For me, because i prefer the spin, the 100D was already low launch and flat hitting, so i needed something sharp or very shaped to grab the ball harder, which helped me balance the racquet and gave me more variety to play with - Tier One Firewire is a triangular shaped string, so that was the main, and head lynx touch is a soft poly to ensure that it maintains a soft feel and more ball pocketing (firewire is rigid and stiff)
