Good points for folks to think about Sarge. I've seen some very encouraging posts in the past couple days on social media with people trying to help folks that are evacuating. There have been farms and homesteads that have large properties with many acres that have put it out there for people to come up and get to safety with their animals to get away from the storm. One place encouraged folks to bring their horses and other animals because they had over 60 acres that they could be safe on. I've also seen posts from a number of campgrounds in AL, TN and GA offering free campsites for people trying to evacuate. It was nice to see that folks are trying to help even before the disaster hits. After seeing all that has been happening in the Carolinas, TN, GA and VA after Helene I think more people have woken up to the fact that these things need to be taken seriously and that folks need to help out if they can.
100% right Sarge. In general people are so fkn easy and quick to judge someone they literally know nothing about. And no desire to understand the matter what so ever. Some videos online of the past hurricane is crazy. I hope everyone is safe and this one isn’t as bad. I was in Viet Nam for the last few weeks coming back home to see and hear about storms, flooding, and another hurricane coming is wild. True yea not everyone can evacuate for so many reasons.
It seems like the people most angry and judgy about people not evacuating are people who have never experienced a hurricane… I feel for people with mobility and financial issues who just can’t, and I worry about people in area with lots of debri from Helene with the projectile factor…
