These K-1 fighter were real characters, each fighter had a very characteristic style! And listen to that Japanese crowd, it is amazing! As the action builds up so do the roars.
Sams ring smarts after getting absolutely flattened by mike were out of this world, truly the best of the best in this era and there was no shame at all in a loss or two at this level
But you can't say Bernardo was very passive after round 1. Why was that??? I watch some Mike's fights and he acts like that many times... But when he wanted he could be unstoppable and ens his opponents!!

A golden era for kick boxing fans. So much tallent and great fight - but what was wonderfull was the Japanes crowd. They took so good care of the fighters and gave them all the cheers they deserved. Nearly none got booed or shown disrespect.

I cant remember seeing harder or faster low kicks than this Greco guy... maybe Badr, Semmy, Andy, or Paul Slowinsky for a year there, but thats all that comes to mind.

Bernardo got the change to box can knockdown Sam, but he didn't use full ability looks like he run out of gas. Bernardo can handle Sam punch and lower kick but if Sam using mawashigeri to the head of Bernardo or good punch to the head.. that is the end. Anyone who got kick by mawashigeri will be KO 99%..(comment before the end of fighting..let see what happen..

真っ向勝負でパンチの撃ち合いではベルナルドの勝ちだけど、サムグレコが一度ダウンをとられてしまった後からも最後まで焦らずに集中力を切らさずに戦った。ベルナルドもジェスチャーしていた様にグレコにはノックアウトやダウンをとれる程の良いパンチはなかったけど1つ1つパンチや蹴りを丁寧に的確に当て、再度有効打を貰わないようにコツコツ撃ってポイントを稼いだグレコの戦い方がすばらしかった。空手家魂だね。

この当時は、ベルナルドの一番強かった時期じゃないかと思います。
脂が乗って絶好調のベルナルドを相手に打ち合いになればグレコに勝ち目がないのは明らか。グレコは最終ラウンドまで持ちこたえてベルナルドの集中力が切れるのをじっと待ってポイントを稼ぎつつ、倒されないようにギリギリの距離を保ちながらピリピリとした神経戦をやった。その緊張感はすごかったし、一度のダウンを挽回したファイトはすばらしかった。
２ラウンド目がないのが残念ですが、グレコの立場から見ればたまらない一戦でした。私にとってベストバウトです。
この試合はサムグレコ選手のベストバウトと言っても良い試合でした。
この頃はどの試合もワクワクしましたね〜
翌日学校でみんなと語り合うのも楽しかったです。良い時代でした。

痛みを知ってしまったからだろう。
通常は20〜30％しか潜在能力を発揮できないが、サップは原始人ビーストだったので、100 ％発揮できていた。
しかし、痛みを知ってしまった故に、原始人であるが故に、一旦逃げる姿勢がデフォになってしまったら、修正は出来ない。
それを技術でカバーするには、真の原始人であるタイソンの指導が必要。

WKAとかIKBFとかのタイトル戦もたまにやってました。
それだけ昔も現在もK-1が世界のキックボクシングの中心にいるということです。ボクシングは４大体あるらしいですがキックボクシングはK-1のみ。

これは1ラウンドKOの試合。カウント内に立ち上がり、ファイティングポーズ取れていないし、なぜかレフェリーがカウント止めている、、あまりにも速く決着付くと困るといった、スポンサー寄りの判断がレフェリー側から入ったのかもしれないが、やはり本来は1ラウンドKOでベルナルド勝利の試合。猪狩元秀はあかん。。
やはりカウントナイン時点でかろうじてグレコは立ち上がっているが、背中を向けておりノックアウト判定されないとおかしな試合、、
テン・カウント以内どころか、トゥエルブ・カウントでようやくファイティングポーズ取ってるぞ、、
普通、ギリギリテン・カウントで立ってもダメージ大と判断し、レフェリーは選手を心配し試合止めます。一般的にエイト・カウントまでに立ち上がり、後２カウント入る前にファイティングポーズ取れないと、ノックアウト判定されますよ。。こんな速く決着付くと困ると、なぜかスポンサー寄りの判断をした猪狩元秀はあかん、、
