    What are some other Production Carts people are using? Share some links if you have any other carts you recommend.

    Just a heads up that the tripod holder accessory you're featuring is made to hang two tripods, one from each of the wings. In your video you have a tripod strapped above it, using it like a shelf. While this does work, it is definitely now how it's designed to be used, and seems cumbersome. You can slim up the width-profile of your cart by hanging your tripod instead. Insert the wing into the gap between the ball mount receiver and the tripod leg. Much more secure, and does not need a bungee. Cheers.

      Adam J. Richman thanks Adam! Good tip. Our guys filming the b-roll didn’t realize that but you’re absolutely correct. It works much better vertically and then you can fit your mini sticks and regular size sticks. Thanks for commenting and appreciate you watching!

    funny that I too started using the rock and roll for couples of years, and just last year decided to pull the trigger for the Inovativ Voyager 42 EVO too. Yes, it's a very expensive cart but defiantly worth the price. Not only I use it for my gimbal and drone work, but I also rent it to production companies. definitely, a gear that you would start looking at after you already purchased every essential gear

      Haha very cool! The Rock n Rolla definitely was a good starter cart! But yes now that we have the Inovativ, it's hard to go back....and yes renting to outside clients is nice too, to make back some of the investment. Thanks for watching!

    Great tip.
    Any recommendation on cheaper carts?

      I still have two cheaper rubbermaid carts that I use in addition to this. They're about $130 each. We talk about them in this video and have links to buy as well: th-cam.com/video/NxOY9XEaNtM/w-d-xo.html

    I got the Rubbermaid Cart,,, But I really want to get one of these :)

      The Rubbermade is solid. Still use ours a lot for c-stands and lots of jobs where we don’t have the Inovativ. But yes you’ll love the Inovativ when you get one 👍😆

    Great video. I want a cart like this. I don't have the money, and it's a bit weird that I am more excited about a cart than most other equipment. I guess it's because it's so easy to have the camera there and a mac and all sort of things and move easy from place to place. I hate to put the equipment in bags and carry them around. You loose so much time. I think it's a good investment. The best part of the cart is that you can travel easy with it :-)

    • @FilmJams
      @FilmJams  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's true! We got so excited about this cart lol...literally more than most of our other gear....maybe not Anamorphic lenses, but still. Yes it makes it so nice working on set. We're actually using it today in a courthouse where we have to travel on 3 different floors, and we can just roll all the camera gear around. So nice! Definitely an investment we are glad we made.

      @@FilmJams how is it to take it up stairs and on rough terrain? It's so nice that you can have all the bags under the cart as well.

      @FilmJams  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vegardpedersen It's the best cart I've used for rough terrain. The tires are solid, and the breaks on the wheels are very nice for hills. I've had it on the beach, in the woods, and it's solid. And yes, lots of storage space!

    this cart is cool but for the price I think you can do a homemade equivalent.The video is so cool.

      Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I’m not skilled at welding, but yes might be possible to create something similar by a skilled welder. Having all the accessories tho that just “work” with the system is a nice feature for me personally. I have been slowly adding on to my cart and I like that I can buy the accessories and they attach with the universal design. It’s definitely pricey but I love it!

      My buddy actually built one recently and cost him $600. But it’s not nearly as nice as the inovativ and he ended up selling it to buy an Inovativ 😂

    Seems really great but for that money, I just could think of soooo many things that would be better for production value.... but then again --- if you have an endless budget, it probably is a convenience.

    • @FilmJams
      @FilmJams  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah like we mention in the video, it definitely shouldn't be anywhere near the first thing on the list for purchases - if you don't have lenses, camera, lighting, etc, but it has made our life SOOO much easier having one. I can be a lot more efficient on set and work faster. And it's just nice working off of it. I don't get as frustrated pulling cases around set and unloading them out of the car. You can leave this built in a van and just roll it out, ready to go. You certainly don't need it, but now that we have it, it's hard to go back! Anyway, thanks for watching!

      Like we say in the video we were doing this for 15 years or so until we got one, but definitely makes our life easier now....it's not cheap tho. Definitely an investment into your business and your kit. If you're making money as a Steadicam Op, DP, AC, DIT, etc it can dramatically change your workflow for the better having a nice cart - and not to mention you can charge a kit rental and make your money back pretty quickly. I'd call it smart business guy moves :D
