Steffy wasn't expecting him to rip up the annulment papers. She thought he was gonna take them and go running back to Hope to get married but he did the complete opposite. There were so many outside forces that got in between Hope and Liam. Mainly by Bill. But one thing for sure. Despite all the manipulations and machinations of others, Liam did develop real powerful feelings for Steffy. I think the reason he would go back to Hope was cause he always felt cheated with her. There was never any closure and Liam likes finishing things he started. But no matter how many times he tried to reconnect with Hope, Liam was never the same man she fell in love with because Steffy was now forever in Liam's heart
Steffy/JMW was looking quite stunning in these episodes, though with help from a lot of makeup and hair extensions. She should have stopped with the cosmetic surgery at this point in my view, her look was just right here.
