They basically ended their career with this bombshell without telling anyone that it was actually over....! What a track to go out on, it has everything you'd expect from Kyuss old and new (and yes I do now about the split ep with QOTSA that came after). But as far as curtain calls go.....bow your head to the masters as this IS the final curtain call on a band who resurrected a whole scene and made metal exciting again from all the depressive music that was around at the time (eg Seattle scene). I do love that scene by the way but it was so refreshing to hear those lyrics....." You don't seem to understand the deal......."

They wanted to create a different sound, built on cool riffs. Now there are a million bands trying to emulate their sound. Some of them are very good. But if you want to be legendary like Kyuss, find your own sound, make something totally unique.

I feel its a perfect blend of SuperCoven and DopeThrone. Torquemada 71, Saturnine, and Satanic Rites of Drugula are my favorites. I just feel its a perfect marriage of all their influences and sounds. The perfect combination of psychedelia and sludge.
