  • Evel Knievel and Vince McMahon pioneered closed-circuit streaming at Snake River Canyon in 1974. The event was chaos -- a crash, a splash, and looting -- - and everybody went broke. This was the precursor, though, to television pay-per-view. Vince McMahon championed the technology, using it as his showcase for WrestleMania, and turned it into a profitable vehicle for entertainment.

    That was a super cool and rare angle to tell people about! I basically forgot all about it and also thought the champ in EK apparel was the clincher! I mean the wrestler. But you're a champ of Topeka, JF!
