The Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a historical palace located in the heart of Mysore city, in the Indian state of Karnataka. Built in the year 1912, it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the country and attracts millions of visitors every year.
The palace is a perfect example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, which is a fusion of Hindu, Islamic, Gothic, and Renaissance styles. It is said that the palace was built to replace the original wooden palace that was burned down by a fire in the year 1897. The present palace was designed by the British architect, Henry Irwin and was built in a span of just four years.
