In today's video we compare the Nike Mercurial Vapor 14 Elite, a true "speed" boot, and the new Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite, a Tiempo model with more emphasis on speed than we've ever seen before. Are they both "speed" boots, or is Nike lying to us? I go over all of the differences between the two and discuss whether or not the new Tiempo can legitimately pass as a "speed" boot. The 8’s killed the tiempos I was wearing the 6 and the 7 and loved them but then 8 ruined the whole design and feel of a tiempo but the 9 feel like butter

It’s just crazy how growing up since the superfly 4s I used to care about speed (even tho I was always the fastest/ one of the fastest in my teams) and how much I wanted to get faster and at the time I was like a freshman in hs and now I really just don’t care about speed as much. That marketing bs is for kids to blow their parents money man

Hey, Jambalaya. Are the finish on the Tiempo 9's sole plate wearable? I'm usually dark-colored boots kinda guy. But this white Olympics colorway is amazing! I just pre-ordered a pair with your coupons. But I'll be a little disappointed if the sole plates are wearable...
I think I converted the Tiempos kind of into speed boots lol.
Out of the box mit the standard insole, they felt comfortable and spacious, not the tight fit that gives a boot the responsive feel.
But since I got some custom fit orthopedic insoles for my foot malalignment (they are much thicker at places), the Tiempos are now extremly tight inside and have an extreme lockdown and overall fit. The sole has become stiffer and the boot really reacts like a Merc now, but with the soft leather upper. And the heel padding is also much softer. Love it! 😁
(Downsides: 20g heavier and very hard to get into them haha)
How are they when it comes to striking the ball?
I have a pair of hypervenom phantom 3s that I absolutely love and have torn to shreds. Tried predators last year and hated how high the arch was but liked everything else. Would the new tempos be a good replace or should i look another way. Me feet aren’t wide or anything I just got a flat foot

The middle stud on the Tiempo worries me. It looks like it might break if you put it through too much pressure. Too thin a blade and in an opposite direction.
I don't think you should be worried. I wear Tiempo Legend 9 Academy's with the same pattern. I weigh 260-270lbs and I play pretty hard on both AG and really firm natural grass and have not seen a lick of damage to the studs.

I find it hard to put on the shoes but my feet are able to get in there and there is space at the end but unsure If I have wide feet?
I also wear Hypervenom phantom elite 3 size 9 and they fit really well. I think I have medium size feet would the 8.5 US superfly elite fit me? or size 9 US?

Yeah, I always use Tiempos on AG.
Its not beneficial as it effeft warranty along with increasing chance of injury but that option falls to you

Tiempos. I guess you aren’t relatively quick so wearing lighter boots won’t help you in that regard.
Mercs are better for already quick ppl and wingers. Not many strikers wears them and Tiempos can be worn and used by any player in any position that’s why Tiempos are better although mercs look much better. But unfortunately looks aren’t what gets you goals. You do.

Everyone wants to be fast, marketing convinces a lot of people that they'll help, the majority of people tend to prefer the way most speed boots look and Cristiano Ronaldo. Amongst a few other reasons of course lol
