Yeah Monty was HUGE. We are the team we thought we might be. We arrived. Carrier filled a big hole. Now everyone knows their role. It's amazing. Thanks for your raw energy Drew great channel happy new year to you bro.
I don’t get the chance very often because of where I live but I was in the area for the holidays and managed to get tickets for this game! I was in the house to see this fantastic game from our team. I was a little nervous after going down 2-0 but when Caufield scored his goal the whole mood changed. It was a total team effort and the way they played defense was amazing. It just turned into a wonderful experience for a lifetime Habs fan. It felt really good walking out of the arena proudly wearing my Habs jersey! Great way to end 2024!
Man. Last habs games I went to (Mind you I'm a die hard habs fan born and raised and still lives downtown toronto) was right before covid and the habs beat the leafs lol. I miss games at the bell
This Habs team is definitely feeling it right now, and I'm pretty sure all Habs fans are pleasantly surprised by this run against top end teams on the road as well. I'm happy to see Dach starting to get his mojo back...I hope he can keep the confidence up and remain healthy the rest of the season. I will say that even though I have my reservations on certain aspects of this team...the one thing that has impressed me the most is the camaraderie this team has...everyone seems to really enjoy playing together. Nice win to end 2024. Happy New Year to all!
3 pts out of a WC spot but only 2 teams to catch up to. That's important. They were last a couple weeks ago. Go Habs go!! Happy new year Drew and ya all!
I was absolutely shocked that they beat the Knights today. This team is playing the way we expected them to be at the beginning of the season. In the mix.
Carrier's arrival allowed Guhle to play on his natural side. What a difference that made. The Habs' defense right now looks like a completed jigsaw puzzle.
When they traded Taffolli to Calgary and it was said that Heineman had to be a part of the deal I had never heard of him. But glad they did. 9, 10 and 7=26 goals by the fourth line. Not too many other teams can say that
Hey, I just want to send you a quick shout out. When we (ME) were freaking out and demanded serious changes from the Montreal Canadians, you were the voice of reason. Not so long ago, you told us to calm the hell down and you felt that something good was going to happen sooner than later. You were right. About a year ago, I told you that I felt that you had enough hockey IQ to be an NHL scout. This is just an example of how right I was. Happy New Year my good friend.
Quite the compliment, haha. I just had a sense we needed more patience. I would not have expected this quick of a turnaround from this version of the team, though. That I’ll admit fully. I really didn’t expect this kind of play from them, it’s been refreshing to say the least, and for Marty to be proved right that he knows what he’s doing with this group. Thanks for the kind words! GHG
How quickly everyone forgets Dach missed a whole season. It was going to take time for him to get back to where he was before the injury. Not quite there, but he's really close.
I’m so glad the Canadiens stayed patient with him this season. As they should have, given the injury last year. Max Lapierre said it would take him months just to get back into game shape, and he was right. He’s certainly getting there.
Some pretty high caliber hockey from a team that the so called "experts" said was a last place team! 🤭🤭 I hope the Canadiens party hardy tonight, they deserve it! 🦂🥂🥂
Habby New Year, Drew. Nice to see you back in the chair. When the VGK went up by 2, I just went "ah crap" but I took comfort in the fact that Montreal had a lot of good chances in the first and, frankly, I thought they had outplayed Vegas - not by a wide margin but the boys had looked good in that first period and I was confident that Montreal wasn't out of it. I will say though, that if they hadn't played so spectacularly in FLA as they did, I wouldn't have been confident. I haven't been this confident in a Montreal team since the 2021 run to the SCF.
Im happy that we won, but now my issue is that i was watching the game on my phone and went in my shower right when montreal scored the two quick goals to win the game .... And now im Wondering if im supposed to sit in my shower every time they play
A friend of mine texted me after the first to tell me the blowout had begun. He predicted 7-2 Vegas. I agreed the 2 goals hurt especially the second to cap off the period BUT told him it was still early. Man on man was the rest of the game fun for us Habs fans!! A lot of things changed from the beginning of the season. For starters they got Laine back from injury. 2, they traded a struggling Right D for a reliable Right D which also allowed Guhle to play on his natural side. They stopped using Primeau and Montembeault has been solid since making team Canada. Evens has been playing with confidence and is on fire right now. Everyone is surprised by Heineman. I'm not. I was calling to give Ylonen's spot to Heineman last season. Didn't happen. Better late than never. They also gave Hutson more ice time since the beginning of the season. This team is playing on all cylinders.. You said we deserved this win. WE DO! Fans pay money to watch hockey. Molson and Co. sold us on a rebuild and we embraced it. Fans cheered the Habs at the end of the season even when they were one of the worst teams of the NHL. We were patient. This road trip is a little gift for us being patient. Last night after the win, I couldn't stop grinning. Panthers, Lightning and now Golden Knights. All beat on their home ice. And the Habs didn't get "lucky". They played well and deserved all 3 wins. There's still a lot of hockey to come and who knows where the Habs go from here but let me say, it has been YEARS since we've seen them play such a good stretch against good teams. I was expecting them to struggle and I was pleasantly surprised by these last 3 wins. Moving forward anything is possible. They might lose 20 in a row but for the foreseeable future, I believe they have the players and mentality to beat any team they face. That is what I have been waiting for since they started the rebuild and this makes watching the Habs fun again. Happy New year everyone!!
Wrote Dach off for the entire season due to last year injury/surgery and necessary recovery, so glad to see his confidence improving again. Happy New Year!!!
Dobes wasn't really challenged. We aren't giving up many good scoring chances and are not caught running around our own end chasing the puck. Maybe we should try to convince the league to let us wear our white sweaters at home
FORGIVE ME for not giving Samuel Montembeault a shoutout for this win, SAMMY! You da man. That is all. Haha.
Yeah Monty was HUGE. We are the team we thought we might be. We arrived. Carrier filled a big hole. Now everyone knows their role. It's amazing. Thanks for your raw energy Drew great channel happy new year to you bro.
Great game, Monty was a wall. From last to 3 pts out of the 2nd wildcard in a month. Go HABS Go!! Happy New Year, Dekesy!
Good to see Dach happy and starting to feel some confidence. What an awesome Holiday road trip.
Got that right!
my gf thinks hes hot

4* and prob 5 if pens beat the red wings
@@JeanJames-ff3wx as of now MTL 37 pts OTT 40 pts PIT 39 so 41 if they win.
@@JeanJames-ff3wx They did not 🗿
@@pstudio4096 yeah i really hope we beat the hawks wouldnt be piss if they get smoked by the avs 6-3 but losing to the hawks would hurt a lot....

Great job by Monty
What’s up Dach? So happy for him.
Haha you got itttt! 😁🥳🎉

GOD BLESS THE HABS AND ALL OF US!!! Happy New Year Drew and all of you

This december was a big change for the team with the arrival of Carrier put that defense on the rigth track Happy new 🎉 go hab go

100% I’ve been saying that since the start of the season. Similar to Caufield last year.
I’m so glad the Canadiens stayed patient with him this season. As they should have, given the injury last year. Max Lapierre said it would take him months just to get back into game shape, and he was right. He’s certainly getting there.

Habs forecheck and sticks are really good lately
Thanks Drew…the pieces are coming together. 🎉🎉🎉2025🎉🎉🎉🎉

Yep….bang on. The confidence is rising by the game. Thanks for the support as always!
This team is gelling and is creating an identity of non quitting. Still a long ways to go in the season, but the vibe is good.
Agreed!
I am so surprised with the win against Vegas!
Great podcast, happy new year
Merci/thank you Paul! Happy New Year!
I wasn't expecting this to happen. We'll take it
Go Habs Go 😊
Msl was so pumped 😀
Right?! Loved seeing that 💪🏻
If we beat Colorado after Chicago, we will have beaten the past 4 Stanley Cup winners. Florida, Tampa Bay, Vegas, Colorado. WOW!
Oh and I forgot to mention on their home ice!
Happy New Year Dekes!! Love it 3 games in a row!!! Woo hoo!!🎉🎉
Woop Woop! Haha. Happy New Year Charmaine! 🥳🎉
3 road wins against 3 good teams in 4 days! Crazy!!!!😍
Happy New Year Dekesy!
Happy new year
I felt the same way. Total team effort.
Happy New Year to you and yours
Same to you Ronald!
What great Habs victory! before my New Years Birthday!! :)! GO HABS!!
I hit the roof when I saw the score, because of the Golden Knights' team powerhouse. I was surprised
I was very surprised by this win too, haha. I wish I wasn’t! Awesome stuff.
Im happy that we won, but now my issue is that i was watching the game on my phone and went in my shower right when montreal scored the two quick goals to win the game .... And now im Wondering if im supposed to sit in my shower every time they play

They are 9-4-0 in their last 13.
Happy new year 🎉

They’ve turned the corner, at least for now, no question.

Happy new year!
Kirby Dach IS NOT a flop!
l'm happy for him too,
Drew!
Amen! 😄🙏🏻
That’s my son out there!!
Inside joke! 😆
montreal needs to make one more trade for a goal scoreing second line center---dach can then alternate between 2nd and 3rd line
They don’t need to trade at all. Demidov and hage are coming
Exactly
Happy New Year! 🎉
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
Love a come back game
👍👍👍
503 points. So we're mathematically still alive? You're telling me there's a chance.
Yaaaa! I read ya…
Oh baby!
Happy New Year 2025
Same to you! 😀
Can they still make the playoffs? Or it’s too late ?
Yes they can, technically speaking. They’re 3 points out of the last wild card spot in the east right now.
not gonna lie, did not predict 3 huge wins... on to colorado!
I think if most of us are honest, none of us did…haha. It’s a nice surprise though after the last 3 seasons of expected losses.
Don't get over confident. Let's see what they do against Chicago? Chicago will be ready for Montreal. They will be fired up for them.
It’s okay to be confident after beating 3 of the NHL’s top teams. Not over confident, but confident.
Dobes wasn't really challenged. We aren't giving up many good scoring chances and are not caught running around our own end chasing the puck. Maybe we should try to convince the league to let us wear our white sweaters at home
Haha. Once in a while would be fun, sure. Looking forward to seeing how Dobes does in his next several starts.
Go Oilers
Wrong channel bud
That’s my friend Chase he’s just trolling he’s a leafs fan 😆
This is awesome.
All those who have been screaming for the Habs to trade Kirby are now silently eating crow for New Year's.
Slaf created Cole's goal.
Yes he did
