***** Shut your mouth, cause on top of being horribly written, it is also incredibly inconsiderate and rude. My father was a soldier, and all he has spoken to me of, has only discouraged me from following in his footsteps, and he doesnt want me to follow in said footsteps either. War is horrible, simple as that. You have no evidence, or reason to believe his father did what you say, so shut the hell up and learn some respect. Seriously, it will only do yourself good. You wont go far without learning that.
+Van Tazz I understand your anger. But Colonel-Lieutenant Møller, one of the commanding officers of the tank batallion wrote a book about his experiences in Tusla some years later, where he made it clear that the history of the region was extremely complicated and bloody and that it was impossible to intervene without doing injustice to at least some. He also expressed anger at the politicians behind NATO, as they were out of touch with reality in many cases and made bad decisions. They themselves were soldiers caught in a war that was almost impossible for them to understand, only abiding orders, while trying to do their job.
***** Sorry, I am not aware of any PDF translations. His book was named after the operation in which they fought against the serbs, Operation Bøllebank, "Operation Hooligan Bashing" in english. You may wish to try searching using that title. Some sources say it was a name he came up with after the battle, but it was actually a joke name for a similar planned operation to evacuate the regional airport, should it come under attack. The name was invented months before the event, it later got attached to. I did search for a translation of the book, but found none. Rest assured that the NATO soldiers were very aware that political things happened "behind the curtain" that they were not told about in detail or at all, but had great effect on the situation they were in, for good or worse. Often worse.
Helt sjovt at se min afdøde far igen.
