Me too! WELCOME! This cake is also a great one any time of year just pop it in a regular bundt pan, and serve with the cherries :) Great for Valentines Day too!
Tried this recipe finally. Loved it, very easy to make with a big return. Thank you Beth, found video so helpful but your instructions were laid out very organized and easy to follow. Merry Christmas. Cheers!
We finally made this, and it was DELICIOUS!! I used oil instead of cooking spray, and tried to take it out of the pan too soon, and disaster struck. My kids don’t care, they love it just the same, and I do too. It’s really rich and chocolaty, just incredible. It reminds me of the deep chocolate flavor of a really good brownie, but in a lovely, moist, soft, not dense but but not too light cake. I’ll buy some cooking spray and try again, mmm!
LOL! Oh no Veronika! But I had to laugh because I know what you mean, the cake is so good that you really don't care if it crumbles LOL! But YES baking spray will fix you right up! Spray it well and then use a pastry brush to distribute it well into all the nooks and crannies, but so glad you enjoyed it! And yes it is like a lighter brownie ha! Great analogy! :)

You could have used your egg whites for the sugared rosemary and cranberries! This cake is truly gorgeous, Beth!!! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you then!
Hi Beth , I made this cake for New Year’s Eve in a regular Bundt pan. It was such a big hit! Moist inside and more crispy outer crust. Definitely a keeper for me . Thanks for this wonderful recipe 😀

Hi Beth, I came out of hospital day before Christmas Eve, we were spending Christmas alone, no cake or dessert left in house, one husband with sad face, saw your recipe and whipped it up as a Christmas Day cake/dessert. I was worried about the taste as I only had olive oil on hand, but there was no need to worry. My husband and I both said Wow! This cake is so delicious, really the best chocolate cake I have ever had. I had the hardest time getting it out of the bundt pan. I sprayed it with Pam but is there a better solution? It was still amazing- especially with fresh whip cream.

Merry Christmas, sweet Beth. I wanted to attempt the buche de Noel this year, but life got in the way. There’s always next year, but this looks very doable and I think my family will love it!
beth im definitely making this looks so good and elegant, also i love your style where do you get your clothes you always look so cute also that yellow bowl did you get that here or france thank you
Ha! Aww you're so kind. Seriously most of my clothes come 3 places, 1.) Old Navy 2.) J. Crew 3.) Banana Republic with a few items thrown in from Zara and Anthropology when my teenager says I'm getting too frumpy LOL! Isn't that bowl beautiful? I get them on Amazon from a company called Mason Cash. They are so many awesome ones to choose from, you'll go nuts ha! Here's the link to their Amazon store Happy Holidays (and Shopping!) amzn.to/3yKSH5l
Did you spray the bundt pan before using it? I love the "snowy" rosemary and cranberries! I also like your mixing bowl - what size is that? Happy Holidays!
Yes definitely spray the pan first with baking spray :) And yes that mixing bowl is so great! It's the largest 10 quart size. They are currently sold out on it on Amazon, but they have so many other lovely bowls to choose from. Here's the link! amzn.to/3p5mNgG
Well you could use unsweetened applesauce. 1/4 cup for each egg. I wouldn't worry about the egg yolks. Just use 3/4 cup of applesauce instead :) And maybe a bundt pan that doesn't have a lot of detail in it, since without the eggs I'm afraid it may not be as elastic to hold an intricate shape, but it would still taste really good! Maybe a loaf pan would be best :) Hope you enjoy!
Hi there, I’ve tried this cake for the first time today but it’s really risen. Wasn’t nice and flat like yours, plus I’ve checked it with a cake tester and one side seems done yet the other side the tester is coming out wet. Any ideas where I went wrong. Thank you for your advise/help.
Oh sure! Depending upon what the capacity is of that pan, you might want to cut this recipe in half. This recipe is a 9-cup capacity batter. So just fill up your pan with a few measuring cups of water to see how much it holds :) Then dump the water out into a thirsty plant :) Hope you enjoy!
Great question! I havent tried it but if you have had other success with cakes making that sub then yes but you may want to pick a pan that is not as intricate since without gluten it nay not mold as well without the elasticity of the ap flour👍
So beautiful. I would add that you should be sure to use BAKING spray and not cooking spray on the pan and the cake will come out perfectly. I know the recipe calls for it but I just wanted to emphasize the importance of it.
I borrowed this Bundt pan from my friend and plan to make this cake tonight or tomorrow. Can I sub Dutch process cocoa powder for the plain? It’s all I have in the cabinet, but if need be I can hit the store.
Sure you can use the Dutch process BUT swap the baking soda in this recipe for baking powder. It has to do with the acidic reactions between the baking soda and Dutch process. this article explains it really well! Hope you enjoy! joythebaker.com/2013/10/baking-101-natural-vs-dutch-processed-cocoa-powder/
@@EntertainingWithBeth thanks! I bought some regular processed cocoa today so I don’t need to worry about it. If these kidlets ever go to sleep (!!) I can make my cake.
Is there a trick to get pans like the forest pan with many nooks clean after baking? Even when I spray the pan, I just can’t get them completely clean.
I know what you mean! I just keep soaking them in hot water and soap until clean, but don't put them in the dishwasher since the heat from the washer will bake on the crumbs! I did just come across the little bundt pan cleaning brush which looks intriguing, I guess we are not along with this issue! Ha! Here's the link: amzn.to/3e9lTcR

Hi Beth can you show me your cherry brandy and where to get it ? I have trouble finding any !
You Always know what's best
LOL! Ya think?! Ha!
I wish I was your guest at Christmas!!! 😀
LOL! :)
Beth this looks amazing!! Can u please suggest how i can follow this recipe without eggs? What should i use as a substitute? Happy Holidays 😃
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Hi Beth , I have the Wilton Christmas tree shaped cake pan . Do you think I could make this recipe in that pan ? Would love to try out your recipe 😊
Oh sure! Depending upon what the capacity is of that pan, you might want to cut this recipe in half. This recipe is a 9-cup capacity batter. So just fill up your pan with a few measuring cups of water to see how much it holds :) Then dump the water out into a thirsty plant :) Hope you enjoy!

Great idea! I am not sure of the pan size , so will follow your idea to measure . Thanks Beth and happy holidays 🎄♥️
Hi Beth, Can the AP Flour be substituted with GF 1to1 Flour?
Merry Christmas!
