    Firstly I want to say that was absolutely brilliant. Secondly I want to thank you Adriene, for not being to brutal to my core today. I've got Aunt Irma, the thing all women dread every month. 🩸 so i was a little worried, about how much core work, we were going to do, because I was thinking of how much pain, I'm in at the minute. So thank you so much, for not making this practice all core related. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are the best yoga teacher ever Adriene. I'm loving all your yoga this month, and every month. See you again tomorrow, for more awesome yoga. Namaste. 🙏 💙

    Checking for Build Day 12 (April 2024). I don't swim much anymore, though I love it. I may have to get back into it just to see how I improve while protecting myself with this lovely practice.

    Build day 12🎉 I had to take a few breaks today, but most of this practice wasn't too bad for my stiff shoulder and neck. Thank you, Adriene, for todays practice, I'm thankful it wasn't too long. 💖🧘🏼‍♀️🙏🏻

    I did this for all the swimmers 🏊‍♀️ 🏊🏼‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏊🏼‍♂️ in my family, pool,sea and open water, so good for the shoulders and back. As a senior yogi I couldn’t quite make those plank moves. I have strength in my core but not in the arms so I rested a bit. See you tomorrow on the mat 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

    Aug 2021 Cultivate Day 12.
    Started on the mat quite frustrated and irritable for some reason. But then, during the practice, I got lost in just moving my body and listening to my breath. Those planks and the up-dog transitions makes one feel so strong and graceful, doesn't it?
    Loved the practice today. Feeling so much better now. Sending love to all my fellow Yogis. Wish you a wonderful day ahead!

    I always underestimate my own strength. Doing Shift has me pushing myself just a little bit longer, shifting into more planks, getting just a bit deeper into the twist. I'm stronger than I know. Thank you, Adriene.

      Trust day 29 here! Enjoying this practice to also slowly recover from bouts of fever due to my vaccine shot. Felt great and really loved those shoulder and heart openers. Now I am dreaming of swimming in the sea!

    i swim 3-5x/week, and this practice hits the EXACT spot in the middle of my back that always feels sore from long sessions of constantly clenching & unclenching my shoulder blades. good stuff, adriene, thanks! 👍🏼

    This went by really quickly :) This is the only video that really gives me an idea on how to do upward dog. After 3 years of pretty regular practice, I still stick to belly-to-Cobra, let's see if chaturanga and upward dog will enter the picture sometime :)

    I enjoyed this practice that I was amazed to say Namaste that I didn't know the practice is already done. The yummy stretch of the shoulders makes me forget about time and just dive in the sensation, and for this I am thankful.

    Thank you Adriene for including this in your July 2020 Shift playlist - it was just what I needed after 3 months working from home on a laptop. This practice was a real opener and reminds me to keep sitting up straight and plugging those shoulders back!

    Blessed Beloved Beauties! I just realized I did this session last Friday and missed Yoga for Musicians. I misread the calendar. Play Day - 14 was substituted for Yoga for lower back pain which is a yummy practice for the entire body and especially the lower back. I feel much better and I am excited to embark on a successful day. Namaste and Ase 🦋❤🦋

    Really enjoyed today even though I am not even at the casual swimmer stage. Thank you, Adrienne for being there for us particularly the last several months. I still struggle with the downward facing dog as my heels refuse to go to the floor.

    Last evening I went to get an ultrasound done on my abdominal organs. During the exam she asked me to breath deeply, hold my breath until she ask me to release my breath. I immediately did my yoga breathing (thanks so very much for all you have taught me about the breath Adrienne❤️). I asked she why she was getting me to breathe this way and she explained that in doing so my diaphragm expands which pushes out my organs from underneath my rib cage. It was so cool to visualize this (thanks again❣️). Love your daily yoga which I have been doing now for a year and you too ❤️

    LOVED the twist when you're laying on your stomach with arms out like a Texas T and then reach the legs over to each side. It felt so good!

    This is a great practice for violinists too! I recently started swimming again regularly because it's supposed to strengthen the muscles you need to play the violin, but that means it also makes the muscles you need to play the violin tired and sore at the beginning...Thank you!

    Lovely twist near the beginning, I hadn't done it before and it's already one of my favourites! Also- for some reason the bow at the end gave me the best stretch in the back of the neck 💜PLAY Day 14, October 2022

    Finally! I'm a swimmer and never practice yoga after a swimming session because it usually places a strain on my already-tired shoulders. Rather, I practice yoga on my off-days. With this video you've hit the nail on the head though, because it emphazises whole body awarenss and connectedness through the core, which is what swimming is about (and breathing). So thanks!     I started a bit too late so will have to finish after work.
    ...well, eight and a half hours later, I finished! Glad I did. My right fingers actually touched the left one doing gomukhasana arms. Maybe a first! And my legs came off the floor in locust. 🙂

      Jo Spice Blackwood yeah it’s great especially during lockdown since Poole are shut where I am before the virus I would do 14 hours swim 4 hours gym and 2 hours yoga per week and it was all lead by our coach but obviously now as coronavirus has limited us it’s been really good to have these videos since my coach can’t take all the classes and I’m only 14 so it’s good as I don’t have much knowledge on what I’m doing when it comes to yoga lol

    I'm also not a swimmer whatsoever, but was surprised at how different this practice was than a lot of Adriene's others with the varied vinyasas, and I loved the flow! 🙏

    This was a nice practice today. Really enjoyed doing the twists! Was able to hold the plank and just some downward dog for a bit. It made me happy to see how far I've come!

    PLAY 🪁 | October 14, 2022 | I don't get to swim very often, but I do a lot of typing which is why I love coming back to this practice to stretch out my shoulders. I also love the strengthening and the twists to wring out those core muscles (the downward dog to plank to up dog move is so cool and different). Feeling great after this quick practice! 🙏🏊‍♀

    Love this routine, I'm sure it's helping me to swim 2km even on a weekday evening - normally I'd be aching but doing this routine in the morning really helps stretch and warm up those swimming muscles!

    This sweet practice is awesome for all the serious swimmers in my family. 🏊‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏊🏻‍♂️ For this senior yogi it reached parts not reached for a while 😂 my right side far more flexible than my left but I don’t swim often so it was all fun.     I can overstate how much this set gets me nice bits of release and warmth in my back muscles during periods when I have been doing lots of sea swimming.
    A really lovely and balanced set for the little aches that can set in the days after.
    Also some wobble inducing strength work to remind me how the water does most of the weight baring :)

    I’ve been having issues with several old swimming injuries as a competitive swimmer for four years (specially lower back, shoulders, hamstrings, calves) This was such a huge help, and my body is already feeling the affects of these exercises. Yoga isn’t really something I’ve done much of but this made me fall in love with it 💙

    It's funny to me that now I'm searching for Adriene's video for swimmers, because I've had a phobia of drowning most of my life, and only when I was 30 I swam by myself for the first time. When I was 37 I swam in the deep end and now, being 38, I prefer swimming to hiking, jogging and cycling which were my favourite activities. It's both funny and incredible.
    So if I managed to face this Water Demon of mine and win, you can conquer any fear you have, you beautiful person reading this! ♥Don't give up on yourself! 💪🏻

    I love this practice ! This senior yogi is not a swimmer but I enjoyed those lovely transitions through from Heart to Earth to Sphinx Pose, super yummy stretchy, awesome for the shoulders and for my arthritis ! In the twists my right side was super flexible but left side no where near as good, mmm, definitely an age thing. I wish I had the opportunity to swim, it would help my fitness, but no nearby facilities 😐 that’s why I love my YWA and my yoga mat 🤗 see you tomorrow 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

      No lakes Laura and not for me ! 😱 I worry about your sciatica, do take care ! There was some moves in there that wasn’t for me so I slowed it down. It’s beautiful weather here at last 🌸☀️🌿 and it lifts the spirits to see blue sky 😊 sending you positive vibes from here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and ‘No’ there was no shark fin was there ? and we had to do our own namaste ! 🙏 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️💕

    I’m a swimmer and have a lot of shoulder issues and this helped so much for post morning practice stretching. Especially on days with doubles I felt a real difference in my second practice
