One of the best cough mixtures is from mullein flowers. Pick the flowers when dry and interlayer with rows of alternating sugar and flowers. Place jar on warm window sill for around 3 weeks till most of the sugar is dissolved and a pale brown yellow mixture will appear. Strain and store on brown bottle and use a few drops as a cough syrup. The sweet flavour defies words and is most effective. We call it poor mans tobacco or bush toilet paper in Australia 🦘🦘

I like this guy's delivery. Both relaxing and dense with info. Great videos. Thanks!

I had no idea other people grew Mullein intentionally. I went out and collected rosettes from the road sides to plant in front of my house, I love this stuff.

Thanks Joe! I have Greek seeds to start for next season ~ then to wait another year for the flowers. I’m still excited though!

I hope when I'm his age I'm still into plants as much as him, he should sell seed mix of his recommendations.

You know so much. I have the other Mullein with the single flower stalk. I never knew another existed! Thank you for all the information. Very interesting and they are very beautiful I think. The leaves are such a beautiful fuzzy green and so big with such a big tall flower stalk!

Just for the sake of accuracy, “Greek Mullein” is a misnomer. It doesn’t come from Greece; the confusion is around the “olympicum.” It does come from a mount Olympus, but it’s the one by Bursa, Turkey - the Bithynian Olympus. Its present name is “Uludağ.” Greeks pretty much gave the name “Olympus” to the largest mountsin anywhere they lived. :-) V. bombyciferum is also endemic to that same mountain.

Avacado oil for making ear drops for ear infection is better than olive oil as it tends not to go rancid

Is it ok to pick the mullin growing wild in Colorado?

The plant in the first year is a Rosette style plant with large leaf harvest time but the second year It shoots up a long stalk with yellow flowers and these flowers male the best cough mixture. See my other comment on how to make It 😊
